We did a Auckland to Sydney cruise on the Maasdam just prior to Christmas last year. Needed to go to sea again(yes I am getting hooked) and found a great deal for a Brisbane to Auckland via South Pacific so jumped at it. Booked a outside cabin and a few days before we left we’re given a free upgrade to a balcony suite.woopee. Embarkation was as smooth as we had come to expect, this was our ...

Chose this cruise with sister in law for her 60th birthday. Can't fault the staff they were brilliant and dining waiters made our experience a very fun and memorable one which we looked forward to each evening. The night before disembarking was disappointing as things went wrong e.g. drinks charged to our account which shouldn't have been as we had drinks package. Reception staff were very good ...

I took a 3 night "party cruise" on this ship on the 5th October 2017 from Brisbane to Sydney Australia with one stop in Newcastle. I have been on the ship before but not since it was refurbished inside. The Sun Princess is a unique ship as that it is smaller than the other Princess ships and has some nice public rooms but also outdated areas that cannot be fixed. Since the refurbishment ...

Just returned from 10 day cruise in Pacific. Overall very nice made more special by Renewing our Vows on board. To start with embarkation was as expected a little busy with a later than normal boarding due to extra sanitisation taking place. The average age of cruisers would have been around 70 ,even though we are a lot younger made no difference to us . We chose anytime dining which I understand ...

The Sun Princess still provides excellent dining, entertainment, activities, port & shore excursions and an overall service experience. The repeated noro virus problem is a worry though. Embarkation was delayed to further sanitize facilities. The steps required to combat this health situation also tends to reduce the overall cruise experience, with library books and written material missing, ...

This was my 5th cruise and 4th time to the first three islands on this cruise, I was really looking forward to the last two islands. On the whole the service was good or as good as my first cruise a few things let it down, I was with my wife and daughter, this was my daughters first cruise she loved it, so we all took the beverage package so we wouldn't have to worry about what we were spending, ...

We have sailed on quite a few cruise lines and always come back to Princess. This was our first time on the Sun Princess, We had booked an obstructed view guaranteed cabin and we were allocated D605, More details later. We did anytime dining and loved everything about the restaurant, we mainly sat at a table for 2 which was our preference and didnt have one bad meal, we loved everything and if we ...

We chose this 10 day cruise to introduce cruising to four friends who have never done this before. We prefer Princess to other lines and so we flew from NZ to Brisbane to join the cruise. Embarkation was well organised and we were in our cabin pretty quickly. The ship is smaller than others we have cruised on, but well appointed and easy to find our way around. I was a bit worried about ...

My husband and I plus two young adults booked this cruise last minute as it was such a good offer. We had never chosen interior cabins before but everything else was fully booked. We did not get to choose our cabins and ended up at the very end of the ship. The bed was comfortable but there was not enough room for me to get into bed unless I climbed onto the bed from the bottom, very roomy though. ...

It's hard not to compare to previous cruises on Celebrity Solstice but to sum up first Sun Princess is an older ship with older guests. Solstice excels on style and dining but that's not what matters , what does matter is "did we enjoy ourselves????..YES we did ! " Sun Princess had ..... Excellent happy crew , genuine service, no hard sell, no long waits for a drink at a bar, brilliant open ...
