We did a Auckland to Sydney cruise on the Maasdam just prior to Christmas last year. Needed to go to sea again(yes I am getting hooked) and found a great deal for a Brisbane to Auckland via South Pacific so jumped at it. Booked a outside cabin and a few days before we left we’re given a free upgrade to a balcony suite.woopee. Embarkation was as smooth as we had come to expect, this was our ...

Because of the ports of call around the Pacific and previous cruises with HAL had been quite good. Embarkation at Brisbane was fine. Our Neptune suite felt like the same as previous on the other HAL cruise, very comfortable and immaculately clean. How ever, the joy seemed to stop there! It appeared that the staffing levels had been reduced and things just took that little longer for ...

When we booked last year we didn't know it would be an EXC cruise. We thought we'd give the new product a go but it seems to be a cost cutting venture. We went to the major ports of Noumea, Port Vila and Auckland on sundays when everything is closed and the other days to beaches where it didn't matter. The cruise hopped around with no order or reason to be in these ports on sunday....maybe cheaper ...

Our friends were already booked on the cruise and asked us if we’d like to join them. Also, we had never been Perth so thought it would be the perfect opportunity to visit there & other places along the way. Right from the start we were having the most amazing time together. There was always something to do onboard or just relax on one of the many deck chairs with a good book. The restaurant was a ...

Chose this cruise with sister in law for her 60th birthday. Can't fault the staff they were brilliant and dining waiters made our experience a very fun and memorable one which we looked forward to each evening. The night before disembarking was disappointing as things went wrong e.g. drinks charged to our account which shouldn't have been as we had drinks package. Reception staff were very good ...

I took a 3 night "party cruise" on this ship on the 5th October 2017 from Brisbane to Sydney Australia with one stop in Newcastle. I have been on the ship before but not since it was refurbished inside. The Sun Princess is a unique ship as that it is smaller than the other Princess ships and has some nice public rooms but also outdated areas that cannot be fixed. Since the refurbishment ...

The Sun Princess still provides excellent dining, entertainment, activities, port & shore excursions and an overall service experience. The repeated noro virus problem is a worry though. Embarkation was delayed to further sanitize facilities. The steps required to combat this health situation also tends to reduce the overall cruise experience, with library books and written material missing, ...

We had our annual convention on board the Sun Princess so had no choice of ships or cruise line. This line caters for the old and very old. Passengers lived in fear for the total time of contracting Nora virus which has been on this ship since January The ship is old and out dated. The wait staff were great, they had a huge job keeping the virus at bay. The ship was very clean and food hygiene ...

We sailed with a group of 22 and this itinerary was the first choice of the group, many of whom hadn't cruised before. Embarkation and disembarkation were smooth. For a large group it was difficult to find any public area on sea days to meet together without us paying for a meeting room. In the end we met in the Horizons buffet dining area mid afternoon but not as comfortable as a lounge ...

This cruise was fantastic! I've heard that this was one of the last circle Australia cruises, because the industry is now cutting back in Australia. We cruised out of Sydney and visited Brisbane, Cairns, Alotau, Darwin, Broome, Geraldton, and finally, we ended in Perth, Australia. The ports and shore excursions were excellent. Food was wonderful, most nights we ate in the dining room, our waiters ...
