Chose this cruise for family of 8. Three children under 18, parents in 40’s and grandparents over 60.
We grandparents have spent much time on Sea Princess, each sailing we notice the cut downs everywhere - staff, indifferent service by some, lousy movies on deck and on cabin TV’s. Very little for under 18’s unless in kids club. Also for the under 50’s. Still the same ‘games’ etc. very little ...

We have done this cruise a number of times and we love it however, in January 2019 we noticed a sharp decline in the food on the ship in comparison to prior years, we cruised on the same ship again in December 2019 and unfortunately the food was pretty woeful again. This was a 13 day New Zealand cruise with Brisbane to Brisbane port. Of the 13 days, six were at sea so there wasn’t a lot of time allocated for shore excursions. Ship capacity was about 2,000 and it was pretty booked. I was disappointed in the overall look of the ship as it is in need of a renovation. We booked this cruise for our 35th anniversary, because it left and arrived back into Brisbane. The cruise was meant to be 14 days, but due to the weather it was reduced to 11 days. Unfortunately the ship lets down the rest of the cruise experience.
The ship underwent a refurbishment less than 2 years ago - but you wouldn't know it. The ship in general looks conservative and dated and we were disappointed that it didn't look like it had just been refurbished (maybe it's the use of brown timber?). We chose this cruise as it departed from Brisbane and we had mutual friends already going.
Our first impressions were of poor service. Especially in the bars. Servers weren’t just ignoring us they were downright rude. Drinks were really expensive. $8.75 for a small beer. There was also a 15 drinks a day maximum on the drinks package which was not advertised.
