First time RCCL and it was...okay.
"Overall it was an good first time on RCCL, but HAL is my go to cruise line simply because the ships are "classier.I told him he didn't need to make up the room one evening as I wanted my guy to have as much quiet time as possible...."Read More

Ship was to go to Far North Queensland but due to Cyclone we went south instead. I was happy to go south, but could understand people being disappointed with change, but there was no way we could have gone to Cairns etc. First time on Brilliance, had previously been on Quantum last 4 times, and I actually enjoyed the smaller ship, it took us back to the old days ( well not that old ...

We joined a group of friends booked on this cruise. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The managers checked in often to make sure everything was to our liking. Thanks to Mark and Justin at Minstrel for great dinner service and making it fun. Kudos to the chefs on taste, presentation and choices. Options for vegan and sugar free were offered. The taste of Royal was awesome. We were ...

I chose this ship and date because it was convenient to my home in Tampa and my fiance, traveling in from Ireland, only had nine days of holiday available. My only other choice was Carnival which has never appealed to me. Most of my nine cruises have been on Holland America, which is my line of preference for mass market travel. We didn't spend much on this five nighter to Cozumel and Grand ...

This was my third cruise with RCCL. I've been on about eighteen cruises on five different cruise lines. The ship and crew were excellent. I’d especially like to sail on Brilliance or her sister ships again, as the full promenade was great for walks and enjoying the sea. However, RCCL will be below several other cruise lines on the list of options. Why? Because, although the great majority ...

We chose the cruise after Covid canceled our original cruise. We utilized the “lift and shift.” The ship needs some TLC but the crew is wonderful. I understand the ship is scheduled for dry dock - that’s good. The balcony cabins need attention. Our cabin steward, Jeremy, was wonderful. The UDP - totally worth it. If you dine at Giovanni- get the Osso buco. The UDP included 5 dinners ...

It's convenient for me to sail from Tampa and I really like the Brilliance and other Radiance class. The ship is 20 years old but we'll cared for. Constant sanitizing and polishing was being done. The Radiance class best asset are the sea views from public areas. Window and glass abundant. Crew told us the Brilliance is going into drydock for updates in a couple of months. Due to covid ...

We chose this cruise as a special one for new years eve. We love sailing RC but this is the first time we had a not so great cruise port. We took a tour of Costa Maya which ended up being a drive through the slums which ended at Blue Key. At Blue Key they had a beach with recliners and very thin mats that were not comfortable. They gave us chips and salsa and two soda/water or juice drinks ...

Good cruise but a few kinks to work out - RCCL you can do better

We are loyal to RCCL. We are beyond Diamond Plus and we like the deck plans on the Freedom and Voyager Class ships. Had on a gown and matching stiletto heels for formal nite and we had photos taken at three stations. Out of 15 pictures not a single one was a full length photo. Just waist up. These are STUPID photographers if they can't get formal photos from head to toe. What was the point ...

Christmas in the Caribbean

We chose this cruise to celebrate my father's birthday and mine. I was surprised by how many other people on the cruise shared a Christmas Eve birthday with my dad. It made it even more fun. I have no idea if anyone else has a Christmas birthday because there was no Happy Birthday singing in the MDR on Christmas Day. I don't know if it was because they were instructed not to, or because they ...
