Mediocre in every way, stay clear of the accountants at RCI
"It has everything that the smaller cruise lines don't (casinos, smoking, kids and too many people) and had it not been for my sister choosing the cruise, I wouldn't have booked it for myself but I thought that it would be a good experience nonetheless and I was looking forward to travelling with her. When we got to Venice a day before the cruise our travel agent advised that we couldn't board the ship because we hadn't paid!!..."Read More

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

My sister booked a cruise and I decided to join her. The itinerary was really great and we enjoyed all of the ports. The staff are probably not treated all that well by the employer as some were very good and many were not...rushed, inefficient, and likely not trained. Our cabin steward was fantastic. I had only been on smaller cruise lines before (Azamara and Viking ocean cruises) and would ...

This was our chance to cruise with the whole family. We went with our daughter, our son and his wife and also our two grandchildren. We hadn't cruised to most of the ports before and we particularly looked forward to Dubrovnik and Santorini. As it happens, Mykonos and Split were were well worth a visit too; Dubrovnik: It is a wonderful place with great atmosphere, incredible architecture, and ...

Not the standard we expected from Royal Caribbean

Overall we were very disappointed with the service in the main restaurant. The issues included food cold and needed to be returned, possible food poisoning from coq au Vin, drink service very slow with reason stated it was hard to find wine glasses! Overall this ship appeared to us to be a training ship. Lots of corners being cut, lack of management of the staff to help guide them. The ...

We were really looking forward to cruising again post covid. The itinery suited us perfectly as we wanted to spend a few days in Italy prior to boarding. We have sailed with P&O and Marella before and loved them and were looking forward to trying Royal Caribbean as we had heard they were great for teenagers. Whilst the basics were there and nothing was terrible, we felt that this cruise fell ...

A destination cruise not a cruise for the ship.

So we picked this cruise to surprise my mother and sisters who were taking the same cruise. Mostly Italian and Spanish guests onboard, who are quite rude. We did our research so knew it was a small older ship. Booking: We booked a package with flights and transfers through our TA. Any questions we had, had to go through our TA who would often get 3/4 different answers from RCL Customer ...

This was my first RCI cruise. I chose it for its itinerary. The cruise started from Vienna/Ravenna, and, let me be clear, Ravenna is an expensive and inconvenient place to start a cruise. I had wanted to revisit Venice for a few days prior to the cruise, and very early on, I wrote to RCI inquiring about transfers to Ravenna from downtown Venice. I heard nothing. I called them, still almost 8 weeks ...

While the itinerary for this cruise is top notch, there is a lot that is really lacking luster. Everywhere you look on this ship, there is wear and tear - the carpets, the railings, the windows. It's a combination of cleaning (They have not been as diligent about cleaning the exterior windows it seems) and maintenance (fresh coats of paint needed everywhere). It's a weird thing to note but they ...

We choose this cruise because the dates coincided with when we needed to be in florence for a wedding. The cruise ended on a sunday and the wedding was the following Wednesday so it was an easy way to kill 2 birds with one stone. We felt it would be a Cliff note version of Italy with the cruise and then go to Florence for the wedding and more time to explore the Tuscan region. The service on ...

Poor food and overworked staff

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

This is our 25th cruise, 4th transatlantic cruise and 4th with Royal Caribbean. Smooth seas all the way, we were sorry to not stop in San Juan and RCI substituted St. Kitts. This sailing on Royal Caribbean felt like being in economy class on the airlines. A noticable decrease in food quality plus they have cut, cut, cut the ships staff in all areas from house keeping, dining room and windjamer, ...

Not a fan of Royal Caribbean after just one cruise!

I choose this cruise because of the price, the itinerary, and I'd never cruised on RC before. And I won't be back. RC- if you do NOTHING else, you must institute a seminar for First Time RC Cruisers ONLY. Have one per each 5 days at sea. (Let's face it - the longer the cruise, the older the passenger, the more we need review!) This seminar should be all about the loyalty program. During this ...
