Bit tired - kids slept on a bed settee which couldn't easily be put up or down (broken mechanism) so we ended up leaving it up the whole time, Lots of finishings and furnishings were tired and needed replaced. Very dusty round the aircon unit but clean enough otherwise.

What's not to like about a Grand Suite on Royal? The service and amenities are great. We had tended to go with a JS or GS not only because of the comfort but also because Royal gives you double C&A points for a Suite. Unfortunately we have a hard time going in a standard cabin when suites are not available. We are now Diamond Plus with a very long way to go to make Pinnacle we will likely still book Suites since we are spoiled.

Cabin 1550
Jan 2016
We booked a Grand Suite - it was spacious and quite lovely, although a bit shabby in spots. No Q-tips or cotton balls in bathroom. Bathroom also needed some grab bars near the large tub, which was a very nice feature but with very high sides. Lots of storage. Cleanliness was ok, not great. Balcony furniture covered with a sticky substance the entire voyage. Asked steward to remove the "for sale" items from the refrigerator, so we could use it; was basically told to do it myself.

Nice cabin but BE AWARE that the suite next to this one has a balcony that looks almost directly into this suite. A little unnerving.

Being on deck 10 we had the huge overhang and only got the sun late in the day, well positioned near the hump and close to the lifts. The breakfast bar in the cabin is a waste of space.

A beautiful spacious room with a lovely view and balcony. I was very pleased with the cabinets and drawers to store my things. The cabin was clean and in nice condition.

Cabin 1530

1530 is a standard (i.e. non-hump) Grand Suite. The only slight drawback is that is just aft of the broadest part of the ship, meaning that the left-side balcony juts out, so one can see something of one's neighbors and vice versa. We never really found it an issue, however. We especially liked the location, as the forward stairs and elevators are just around the corner, meaning its a quick trip pretty much anywhere on board. We had no issues with either overhead or corridor noise.
