We chose a cruise to Cozumel/Key West and shortly after booking the itinerary was changed. We ended up going to Key west/Nassau/Coco Cay. We did not want to go to Nassau as we had been there so many times before. The change was made months ago, and had nothing to do with recent virus concerns. We tried to get them to let us change to another cruise or to give us an onboard credit but our requests were refused. If we wanted to change the cruise we would lose our deposits. So we went on with the trip and enjoyed it anyway. The food was pretty good. Our dining room server was a highlight. He was fantastic. Our cabin steward was ok. He got a little irritated that my friend and I asked him to split our beds apart. Never had that happen before. We weren't as pleased with the entertainment as we have been on past cruises. The comedian was pretty funny and the impersonator was good. The trivia is something we always enjoy but didn't so much this time. We did a Highlights of Nassau tour and it wasn't worth the money or time. We should have just stayed on the ship. We enjoyed our day in Key West but it was crowded. We got a South Beach cabana at Coco Cay and we had a good time there. Our attendant was very good. I got sick with a stomach virus toward the end and had to spend the last day of the cruise in my room. They gave me free room service and called often to check on me. I went to the infirmary and they treated me well. Read Less

This was our 5th cruise on the Brilliance of the Seas and we were very disappointed. The MDR experience was terrible. The quality of the food was not good and serving roasted turkey any night is just plain cheap food and on our 5 night cruise it was offered twice. The menu choices have decreased and the items are mostly just plain cheap food. What everyone has always looked forward to was LOBSTER night and forget that there is not one. They offer a salmon ever night and it is the worst salmon I have ever tasted. Serve at least Norwegian if not Alaskan but the cheap farmed salmon they served is bad and way over cooked. During my 5 nights in the MDR the only thing I would say was really good was the escargot, that they do well. The Windjammer did have some pretty good food. The burgers are done the way they should be and the pizza is not bad. The choices are very good for breakfast and lunch and we cruised thru a few nights after dinner and it is probably a better choice than the MDR for dinner. We attended 4 nights of the main event shows and only one was acceptable. They are still doing a production show that they did 5 years ago, time to move on. We had booked another cruise on the Brilliance for this December and will go thru with it in hopes they get there game together. I feel that the Captain needs to get his Ship together and take care of business. Never did see him about the ship yet when we sail on Celebrity the Ship's Captain was always visible and even at the Dock at each port to welcome everyone back on board. Read Less

We decided to cruise on RCCL because we were traveling with young family members and we thought they would enjoy the Brilliance of the Seas. We had a good time because we were together, but we won't cruise with RCCL again. The ship was very noisy with no quiet spots anywhere. The food was mediocre at best and usually worse than that. The only indication of the Christmas season was the decorations, no music, shows or anything else to suit the season. We did enjoy the production shows although a nod to the season would have been nice. So it's back to Princess for us. Bar service was slow. Read Less

After all the rave reviews I had heard about Royal Caribbean, I decided to take a short vacation prior to Christmas on this ship with some friends. I was disappointed with several things. This is the 4th cruise I have taken and by far the worst. It turned out to be a frat party for university students, which is great if you're 21. The friendliness of the bar staff was lacking compared to other cruise lines. They seemed short staffed and rushed off their feet. Perhaps that was because they were catering to the "frat" party. There were some bars that didn't even have staff working. You would have to get a drink 2 bars away from where you wanted to sit and if you wanted a refill you had to get it yourself at the bar. With the size of the ship, there is no personal service except in the dining room. Every other ship I have been on has had hand sanitizing stations set up outside each restaurant and elsewhere throughout the ship. The only place I found one of these was when you reboarded the ship from port. The food variations in the Minstrel dining room were not as good as other cruises, and the portions were smaller. Of the 4 nights, 3 featured lamb on the menu. And the other options were not as varied as other cruise lines. Disembarkation was a nightmare to say the least. Of the 2100 passengers on the ship, about 300 decided to do the Express Walk off (take your own luggage). The disembarkation was to start at 6:30 for this group. We waited in line for an hour. The Express walk off was to start at 6:30 and end by 6:45. At 6:45 they started calling other colors to the same meeting area. By the time we got off the ship there were about 500 people crammed into a small area. People were getting hostile about being cut off. This is something that RCL needs to work on. They should limit the amount of people getting off the ship in each group. No other disembarkation I've had has been this much of a nightmare. Overall the ship is okay, but I think that anyone who is looking for more personalized service and friendlier staff should look at Celebrity or NCL. Read Less
