The people working on the ship really made our experience a positive one! They were all so kind and cheerful and everyone knew our names (especially Patrick, Altheena, Rechelle, lady from St. Lucia, lady from South Africa, Chinese ladies, etc). We went on this cruise to get a good sampling of the Southern Caribbean. The service was excellent and all of the staff were truly happy to part of your vacation.
I have mixed feeling about the freestyle cruise.On one hand I enjoyed the freedom and flexibility, it also I believe lead to some fast food attempts for some at the restaurants.

We chose this cruise because it was out of Boston so we did not have to fly to get to the ship., We had sailed on the Gem last year and enjoyed the ship so we figured we would do it again. We love leaving out of Boston. No planes.....easy port. We love the 14 day cruises in the fall. There are very few kids (I like kids,but as a teacher, it is nice to have adult time)

This was a solo cruise for me. The second day on the ship the solos got together with Patrick from the Cruise Staff leading the meeting. It was nice to look forward to having dinner and company in the main dining room each evening. The food was good, not great. The service was fair.
