We got to embarkation on the early side and waited in a line at the port for a little bit, but once it got moving, the process went quickly. The first thing we noticed was there were a lot of retirees. Always the best part...we see them and smile, they see our kids and become skittish. (They always realize we have great kids. It just takes them a bit to come around!)
Our room was 3076 and it ...
We did the seven day New England itinerary with ports at St John, New Brunswick; Halifax, Nova Scotia; Bar Harbor and Portland, Maine.
Our cabin 3576 was tended by Gede, great caring, very quiet, good location and Gede kept us tidy and neat.
We opted for late dining our wait staff was Grace and Omar. No complaints at all. Felt the selections on the menu were very adequate and the food was ...
My hubby and I just returned from a New England/Canada cruise on Serenede of the Seas. We had a wonderful week leaving from Boston and going to Portland, Bar Harbor, St. John and Halifax. Serenede is a wonderful ship just the right size. Not too big to get lost and not too small that it never felt croweded. Our favorite places on the ship were the Schooner bar and Safari Club.
I loved the ...
My husband and I had a wonderful time on our cruise. All of the personnel that we dealt with, from our cabin steward to our restaurant staff were wonderful to deal with. We had a wonderful time at all of the activities, but most especially the 80's Dance Party. Our weather was perfect. We feel that the food was not always at a high standard (i.e., occasionally not as hot as it could have been ...
We are a couple in our 70s with limited cruise experience. We had been on two Alaska cruises several years ago, and most recently a Holland America cruise (Eurodam) last April. Since we live in the Boston area, we wanted a cruise that was easy to get to (no airlines, no hotels before and after) and of limited duration. The 5-night cruise fit the bill, and the deal was too good to pass up. On ...
Chose this line as it went out of Boston and I did not have to fly.
Cabin seemed small and was musty but that was fixed right away. There is plenty of storage space . We had plenty of hot water.
Embarking went fine. Disembarking went slow and we were later than we expected getting off.
The tours....well, maybe I picked the wrong ones but 2 of them seemed very rushed with ...
I was overall happy with cruise for the most part. I would rate the cruise as follows, 60% as fun, entertaining, and enjoyable. 40% not so much, a lot of waiting in lines on numerous occasions. Maybe this is normal, but as a veteran, the Army might be more efficient in this area and vets know what I mean, a lot of hurry up and wait. Dinning room meals were disappointing, buffet eating was better ...
If you're looking for a slightly different cruise experience, this one offers it. Halifax is a great town, Saint John and its tides are fascinating, and Bar Harbor has great charm. The 5-day length of this cruise is a great choice when you're looking for a more focused cruise.
I thought the entertainment on the cruise was very good, particularly the bar pianist, Danny. The movie selections were ...
The main reason I (we) chose this cruise was because of the venue - fall colors. Although the colors had not yet peaked, the colors were turning and were quite beautiful It's all about timing (and luck). We were just a little too early to get the full advantage of the fall colors. But the venues were great - Hallifax, Portland, Bar Harbor and Boston - all great stops.
Having sailed many ...
As a first time solo cruiser, I wanted a small "ish" ship and have wanted to go on a Canadian cruise for a while. The rooms are small (as all interior cabins are) but as it was only me, I had plenty of room. My room attendant was the best. He overheard me saying I needed a band-aid for a blister on my foot and went to my room to find change, instead, I found that my room attendant left me a ...
