Fall Foliage Cruise. Spent an extra day in Boston as it was our first time there. Very interesting city. Bus to Gloucester to board the ship. Only 96 pax instead of the full capacity of 210 pax which facilitated embarkation etc. Very good food and wine and meal service throughout the cruise. Good-sized comfortable stateroom with balcony an extra feature. Even the bathroom was quite good. Good housekeeping staff as well. Many onboard were sea-sick during one full day at sea under less than ideal weather conditions but the crew handled the situation well. Generally speaking, the tours were not really to our liking; too much time on buses and some destinations of limited interest, but the destinations themselves were good. Limited destination info provided, and we found that the briefings provided by the onboard expert/guide were of limited use. Evening entertainment by two musicians also of limited interest. Wifi was slow and at times did not work at all.Two good quality elliptals & 2 exercise bikes were on board but did not work due to prolonged exposure to sea air. Free weights were available but only in 3, 5 & 8 lb barbells. Overall an excellent return to cruising after so many years. Pearl Seas did a good job. Read Less

This was the smallest ship I have ever been on, and being in my mid to late thirties I was very skepticle in traveling on this ship, however it was a very enjoyable experience on the Pearl Mist. Cruising on a smaller ship is a much more of a family, homey atmoshphere that being the only way I can describe it and although my cousin also in her thirties who I was travelling with was being asked what are you doing on here with us older folks we were truly happy to be there. Everyone was so friendly, the passengers, the crew, everyone!!! We stayed in stateroom 421, it was spaceous and had everything we could have possibly needed. The food was delicious, great choices all sit down meals. Our shore excirsions were included and it was only one tour in each port on the New England Fall Foliage Cruise. The only thing I wish there would have been more of was more activities on board such as maybe bingo more then one night or maybe organized card games, more entertainment then just the same singers in one lounge every night. That aspect of the ship has the potential to be much better. Overall we met great people on the Pearl Mist and had a great trip. Read Less

Staff was excellent. Food was really good and service was outstanding. All personal preferences are quickly accomodated and they will prepare anything you want. Portions are thankfully not overwhelming! Any special dietary needs are always considered without having to remind them. Our waiter, Ronald, was exceptionally in tune to my particular issue. The staff is very patient and understands customer service. Local people were our tour guides on the shore excursions and they were very knowledgeable, interesting and humorous. The excursions were a nice length (no all day trips etc) and left plenty of time to explore on our own. The disembarkation process needs desperately ro be reviewed and revised. Much confusion and poor communication. We were surprised as the embarkation was so smooth. Overall a very pleasant cruise! Read Less

This cruise ship is a must for those who want personal service and not feel like a number. The musical entertainment was very enjoyable and appropriate for the passengers and places we were touring. They also had educational talks about the area we were visiting. The food choices, presentation, size of portions, taste and service in the dining room was excellent, top of the line. I truly enjoyed the dining room experience the most because of the excellent food and service. This was one of the best 7 days of my life. Read Less

This was my first time on a small cruise ship. I traveled with my cousin and between the two of us, we have cruised over 25 times. The typical cruises we take are on RCCI, NCL, Carnival and Celebrity. We are also in our mid-thirties and this is a predominantly older crowd. This was a very different experience for us. The ship is very small, with just 5 floors and a handful of lounges. There are two main lounges where you can find snacks and drinks at any time, plus a few smaller lounges that weren't used much at all. There is also a "gym", but i didn't even know where it was until the last day because it just has a few machines OUTSIDE on the 5th deck! Not a smart move. The dining room was on the first floor and very nice. Our stateroom was one of the suites and quite large. It is comparable to suites on other cruise ships, but with a slightly smaller bathroom. It had a mini fridge, a sofa and chair, plus a nice flat screen TV. The balcony was also large with two chairs and a table. The ports were Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Eastport, ME, Bar Harbor, ME, Rockland, ME and Portland, ME. They were all very nice but most of them didn't have much to do or see. There was one shore excursion for each port and they were all included. The best was Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor. The cruise line should really have more than one to choose from, but I assume these places just don't have much to see. The food was very good to excellent and the service was wonderful. No buffets, all sit down meals. Drinks were included at lunch, dinner, cocktail hour and after dinner during the evening entertainment. Popcorn and root beer floats were also passed around after dinner during the entertainment. I enjoyed the singers at night, but it was very limited. They only had one option for nightly entertainment and it was from 8:30-9:30. Most people tend to go to bed early, but one night when everyone was dancing and having a great time, they still stopped right on time to the objections of some of us that would have liked to stay up a bit later. Embarking and disembarking was the easiest i have ever encountered. The staff throughout was wonderful and i was happy to be able to get to know them better because of the small amount of guests, unlike a large ship were you barely get to know even your stateroom attendant. Overall this was a fabulous cruise and I would definitely go again. I would not recommend it to younger people that are looking to party or to have something to do at all times. It is very slow paced and a nice change from my hectic day to day life. Read Less
