Cruising is Back

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Celebrity Summit

This was our first cruise in almost three years as the pandemic had put our cruising on hiatus. Since it was mid September we opted for a cruise to the Maritime Provinces of Canada to hopefully catch some of the color as the leaves turned. Maybe it is global warming but the leaves were very much green and intact as September wound down. Despite the age of the Summit the ship looks very clean ...

This cruise from Boston to Montreal was to see some new sights in Canada. The ports of Bar Harbor, Charlestown, Quebec were interesting. Sydney and Montreal not so much. The common areas of the ship appear to have been refurbished in the last few months, but the cabins are showing a lot of age with only one electric outlet per cabin and an in room TV that is essentially useless and too ...

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

My friend and I took the Norwegian Pearl -to New England and Canada, departing from Boston on Sept 2. Boston Port was organized and we sat in sections for our boarding group. After check in at the muster station location, ate lunch at the Summer Palace. This was our main go to free sit down restaurant. It seemed bigger and more open then the other sit down restaurants. It was pretty empty ...

I don't normally write reviews however, with now 20+ cruises under our belt and our second trip across the pond, I thought that I would put 'pen to paper' to hopefully assist any new UK cruisers looking to travel either with Celebrity (this was our first time with Celebrity) or visiting New England & Canada. In regards to the ship, our last 5 cruises have been on much bigger (150,000 tonnes +) ...

Pleasantly surprised with NCL

This was our first cruise on NCL and from reviews I was not expecting to be wowed. I wasn't but it was better in many ways than I expected. I received a dining package so I did try two specialty restaurants. I found the main dinning rooms be be excellent and the buffet quite good. Can't say the same for the specialty options. The Italian was just OK and the French was trying too hard to be top ...

The people working on the ship really made our experience a positive one! They were all so kind and cheerful and everyone knew our names (especially Patrick, Altheena, Rechelle, lady from St. Lucia, lady from South Africa, Chinese ladies, etc). They were the best part of the cruise! The girls in the Spa were so friendly (Sumi, Thiang, Pauline, Katazyna, etc!) and the ladies working in the Splash ...

We went on this cruise to get a good sampling of the Southern Caribbean. The service was excellent and all of the staff were truly happy to part of your vacation. I have mixed feeling about the freestyle cruise. On one hand I enjoyed the freedom and flexibility, it also I believe lead to some fast food attempts for some at the restaurants. Although we did not travel with kids, there were a ...

We love leaving out of Boston. No planes.....easy port. We love the 14 day cruises in the fall. There are very few kids (I like kids, but as a teacher, it is nice to have adult time) We arrived in Boston around noon. We parked in the open lot next to the ship ($200). Check in was easy. We have taken this same cruise many times on the Gem as well as other NCL ships. We had an ocean ...

Our family of 4 loved making memories together on this 15 day cruise out of Boston. The ship is the perfect size, in my opinion. The ship could use a few cosmetic updates, most notably some signs that had paint chipping off, etc. - but was in great condition overall. Our stateroom was kept very clean, and although we encountered a few issues (clogged drain with some leaking, broken light fixture, ...

No flights, time of year & length. NCL always does a nice job W/ value & friendliness. Decent perks for Latitudes members. Specialty dinning was excellent, we ate at Cagney's twice La Cucina twice, Tepanany and Orchard Garden twice, celebration our 31st anniversary at Cagney's with cake provided by the Gem,,,nice surprise. I am unable to walk long distances so we like the Jewel class ships or ...
