First sailing with Norwegian (3rd cruise overall)

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

My husband and I wanted to try cruising out of Boston, a port local to us, and to try out Norwegian after already having sailed on Carnival (10 years ago to Canada from NYC) and Royal Caribbean (to Alaska last year). We travelled with another couple who were on their first cruise ever. We all enjoyed ourselves, aided by the mostly smooth sailing, pleasant weather, enjoyable itinerary, and great ...

Not Quite Epic, But Worthwhile

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Zuiderdam

As one of Holland America’s Legendary Cruises (and also as one of the most expensive), the Voyage of the Vikings on the Zuiderdam, which sailed July 22-August 26, 2023, should have been nothing short of epic. It fell short of that goal, but was still very good and certainly worthwhile. This review will cover the good things we experienced, as well as the not-so-good things. THE GOOD ...

Booked this three days prior to sailing. Close to home, easy vacation. Have sailed NCL in past, love Bermuda and Bar Harbor. Overall, great trip. Ship a bit older but a good size, easy to move around. Entertainment clustered on decks 6 and 7, with decent live music, casino (gross and smoky).and a great tribute and comedy show. Enjoyed all. Staff could not be nicer, especially Raymond ...

Premium unlimited wifi not worth the expense

I came because it is a family cruise from a convenient port. Staff were all attentive and polite. The cabin was as expected for an interior cabin. Service in the restaurants was wonderful and most of the meals were very good. My main complaint is the premium unlimited Wi-Fi. I paid $179. It did not work for 3 days. When I complained I was given a refund for only one day. The internet manager ...

Great Itinerary is why this is 4 stars otherwise 3

What a great itinerary and we loved sailing out of Boston. This was our least favorite food of any cruise we have been on. Dry, lacked flavor, cafeteria quality desserts in the MDR. It’s enough to deter us from NCL again. Service was great. Things were kept pretty clean throughout the ship except that public bathrooms could have used a little more attention. Entertainment was so-so. In ...

Family Fun, Great Crew

Boarding wasn't as easy as in the past, we got to the counter quickly but the person there was very confused. This annoyed the guys as they don't have my patience. She was obviously new as she did all our information multiple times, but was in the wrong screen each time, frustrating yes but she was trying very hard to get us on board. We planned this trip since 2019 but covid hit and it was ...

WIhy did I chose this cruise? We like Norwegian, it has been our 5th cruise with NCL. We have been on Carnival, etc. Because of the location of cruising out of Boston to Bermuda it is the perfect cruise for us. Take a Lyft to the dock, ready to go. Some things have changed over the years, one is adding Maine to the itinerary. Although we have gone off ship in Maine,, we are shoulder ...

A nice reintroduction to cruising

We did the October repositioning from Boston to San Juan. It was my first Royal Caribbean cruise in ten years and first one since covid ( NCL Dawn 5 years ago) the ship reminded me of the Navigator, Mariner and Explorer ships. It was a great size not too big or small. Our balcony room was adequate. Cabin steward was great. It was an adjoining cabin and could hear a screaming child the first and ...

Love Those Days At Sea

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Summit

We like to have relaxing days at sea on a ship with a good outdoor promenade - preferably one that accommodates deck chairs - where we can contemplate the sea, watch for flying fish and be mesmerized by the bow making swirling, foamy waves as it plows through the blue water. We don't care about flashy shows in the theater or trivia games or 'white nights' with pulsating beats on the pool deck. We ...

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Voyager of the Seas

I have been on 15 previous cruises, but this is my first time on an RCL ship. I chose it mostly because the port is nearby (Boston). I enjoy cruises these days because it's a real vacation; I don't have to figure out WHAT I'm going to make for lunch and what for dinner. I'm so sick of that! Also, to be entertained by music or karaoke or whatever is such a pleasure. Real people, not the usual ...
