Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Norwegian Gem

I've been on 20+ cruises and this is my 7th NCL cruise to Bermuda. So many of the fun aspects of cruising have disappeared in NCL's most recent exercise in corporate greed. I think it's time for me to take a break from NCL. So many passengers I spoke with informed me that Royal Caribbean and even the newer Carnival ships are a much better experience than this NCL Gem cruise. * First of all, ...

We especially love the Gem for the outstanding crew and staff, this is our second trip to Bermuda on the Gem. What a friendly group who gave outstanding service at all times. Our first time was before the pandemic. We were in a Club Balcony and we very happy to see it had not been totally updated, the changes to this type of cabin on Pearl was terrible, (closet hard to open, doors ...

Disappointed with my suite

Well I am Sapphire level on NCL. I have also cruised with many other lines but because of my level I typically pick NCL. This is the very first time in over 45 cruises in total that we did a suite. We had a forward facing balcony suite. The room was amazing until we read the sign “balcony only available when in port” and the other sign “curtains must be closed at night”. None of this was ...

We took this cruise to celebrate my 39th birthday. This was my first cruise since my diagnosis so i was prepared to only have a few things available to eat but boy was i wrong!!! This cruise turned out to be the best one we have ever been on, and it wouldn't have been possible without the staff kicking butts and taking names (and food and drink orders) the entire time! Ship: 3/5 The ship is ...

Pleasant 7-day cruise in the fall

Overall, the cruise was great with interesting and scenic ports. The ship offered several communal spaces with lots of activities. Great food and service! Biggest complaint was timing and/or lack of evening shows. Pros: Good Windjammer buffet but would like more variety at lunches. Service in MDR was outstanding. Initial cabin requests were handled quickly and our room steward was efficient and ...

So disappointing

I never thought I would be disappointed on a cruise BUT our cruise on Serenade of the Seas earned that title. The ship needs an update and in an overhaul approach. We booked an interior stateroom on the 7th floor and decided to bid on an upgraded room. For 380 dollars we were “upgraded” to the 2nd floor (the bottom of the ship”) with a porthole the size of a pie. We could only access our floor ...

This was our sixth cruise and after reading the celebrity board and reading all of the cheerleaders' reviews we were very excited to try celebrity and especially the summit. People raved about the food, service, and ship. They said it was the best of the fleet. Well, if that is their best they are in serious trouble. The staff was very friendly, but they must be stretched very thin. It was ...

This was my 6th cruise. I've been on Carnival, NCL, HAL and RCL. This New England cruise has given me reason to take another look at the other lines again. Dining room service was slow and below average. Buffet was poor to say the least. The staff is clearly trying but they just don't have the numbers or materials to provide good food and service. I'm still trying to figure out how you can ...

First time Celebrity cruisers (we have traveled 5 times on Disney and 1 on Viking Ocean). This has always been an itinerary we have been interested in and it did not disappoint. It's very much and adult and upscale feel in the rooms and public areas - understated and nice. We have always thought that this would be an adult offering with great food that would really mesh with our tastes ...

Cabin, Concierge Class- the shower floor does slope properly and never fully drains- ship was refurbished 2019 - hard to believe this has not been corrected; destinations great but too little time in St John NB and Halifax- remove a stop and more overnights needed or later a.m arrival and evening departures; tendering process in Rockland Maine inexcusable with only 3 tender boats operating - ...
