Getting onto the cruise took a little longer than expected as it was line after line between checking Negative covid results and Passports. The cruise ship staff was Amazing and always so cheerful and helpful. The lack of staff in the public dining facilities was obvious. Pre-covid there were many many staff members in the Summer Palace or Indigo to assist. We had a party of 10 and the staff ...
We chose the Pearl because we live south of Boston & thought it would be great not to have to fly!
The Pearl is a very nice ship, but having some elevators not go to some decks was hard to maneuver, especially with someone in a wheelchair & another with COPD.
Embarking was a nightmare. We had a 10am check in. We were escorted to a hallway with seating & never boarded until 11:45! But to ...
We booked our cruise in March for July through travel agent. We have a 3 and 5 year old. This was our family vacation this year. All in all, we spent about $6k. We got an inside stateroom , fine, nothing to write home about. On top of that we added the unlimited internet package so we could watch our kids on a babycam we were bringing after they went to sleep while we were at the bar, as well ...
We chose to cruise out of Boston because we live in Maine saving us on airfare. We were so excited and the boarding process was flawless. We literally walked right on at 1:30pm. We started our time at the Garden Cafe and there appeared to be a lot of selections for my three teens and my parents. Salads, soups, sandwiches, grilled items, and plenty of desserts. By the end of the cruise the ...
Check-in process was easy my balcony room is updated and very clean. The buffet was absolutely disgusting. The burger rolls were hard and moldy. I let the cook know the rolls were moldy and I saw him take the entire basket out. My son went to make a burger and I checked his bread and full of mold. The rolls were put back after I left. That’s absolutely disgusting. We had plumbing issues Tuesday. I ...
Embarkation was confusing due to discrepancies with Bermuda rules for testing. It it 4 days in advance. NCL - 3 days. On NCL webpage you can find statement - county rules supersedes NCL. Not so. You have to be careful there. Food was ok but very little selection. For breakfast- the same thing every day - eggs mostly . Entertainment- so so. One level above Caribbean resorts, especially on deck and ...
Chose this cruise purely because we wanted to go to Bermuda and it leaves out of Boston. First of all the food was terrible, very bland mostly tasteless. Also everyone in my party had stomach issues due to the food for the entire trip. They also had a lack of bartenders resulting in one bartender tending to his own bar as well as the drinks for two restaurants, way too much work for one person. ...
TL;DR: There is one and only one reason to choose the Norwegian Pearl: it sails out of Boston. If you're willing to sail the same itinerary from anywhere else, sail out of New York: you'll get much newer and better ships.
But let's start at the beginning. The embarkation horror stories posted by some of the previous reviewers are clearly a thing of the past. The terminal was run in an orderly ...
We recently cruised on the Pearl to Bermuda and stayed in The Haven. We were excited about our first vacation since before the pandemic. We applied 30 days before the trip for our Bermuda Travel Authorization and took the proctored Covid tests. You have to take a test 2 days before embarkation, which is fine. I didn't get my authorization until 8:00pm the night before so if you get it later, don't ...
This was my first cruise. The staff was incredible, the food was great, and the only main complaint I have is that an extra day in Bermuda would have been better than the day in Maine in my opinion.
Shout out to Rico, Helio, & Chi Chi at the champagne bar. Fantastic Personality, all smiles, delicious drinks and made us feel like we've known them for years. Can't wait to book another ...
