I usually read others posting and think the criticism is a bit much, but I could not help but report many issues that occurred while on our latest cruise to Bermuda from Boston. This cruise took place from November 4th to November 11th. Let me preface my following comments with the fact that my wife and I are dedicated cruisers with NCL having achieved Platinum Status and are Stock Shareholders in ...
We like to have relaxing days at sea on a ship with a good outdoor promenade - preferably one that accommodates deck chairs - where we can contemplate the sea, watch for flying fish and be mesmerized by the bow making swirling, foamy waves as it plows through the blue water. We don't care about flashy shows in the theater or trivia games or 'white nights' with pulsating beats on the pool deck. We ...
This was the absolute worst cruise line that I have been on and I have been on 15 cruises. This was a budget cruise charging exorbitant prices. We were in a suite and we had no information provided for a special check in, why pay 11, 500 when we could have paid $2000 and gotten on board like every one else. Get to our suite and it is dirty, the cabinets have greasy finger marks on all cabinetry. ...
Getting onto the cruise took a little longer than expected as it was line after line between checking Negative covid results and Passports. The cruise ship staff was Amazing and always so cheerful and helpful. The lack of staff in the public dining facilities was obvious. Pre-covid there were many many staff members in the Summer Palace or Indigo to assist. We had a party of 10 and the staff ...
We booked our cruise in March for July through travel agent. We have a 3 and 5 year old. This was our family vacation this year. All in all, we spent about $6k. We got an inside stateroom , fine, nothing to write home about. On top of that we added the unlimited internet package so we could watch our kids on a babycam we were bringing after they went to sleep while we were at the bar, as well ...
We chose the Pearl because we live south of Boston & thought it would be great not to have to fly!
The Pearl is a very nice ship, but having some elevators not go to some decks was hard to maneuver, especially with someone in a wheelchair & another with COPD.
Embarking was a nightmare. We had a 10am check in. We were escorted to a hallway with seating & never boarded until 11:45! But to ...
As Latitudes Sapphire members we have taken many NCL cruises. This is the first one that I am writing a negative review for.
The Good:
Embarkation was fine. Fairly organized.
Staff: They tried but it seems there was no training upon their return to service and they fell short of expectations despite their hard work
Entertainment: Adequate
Bermuda: Wonderful as always
The ...
Embarkation was confusing due to discrepancies with Bermuda rules for testing. It it 4 days in advance. NCL - 3 days. On NCL webpage you can find statement - county rules supersedes NCL. Not so. You have to be careful there. Food was ok but very little selection. For breakfast- the same thing every day - eggs mostly . Entertainment- so so. One level above Caribbean resorts, especially on deck and ...
Check-in process was easy my balcony room is updated and very clean. The buffet was absolutely disgusting. The burger rolls were hard and moldy. I let the cook know the rolls were moldy and I saw him take the entire basket out. My son went to make a burger and I checked his bread and full of mold. The rolls were put back after I left. That’s absolutely disgusting. We had plumbing issues Tuesday. I ...
We chose to cruise out of Boston because we live in Maine saving us on airfare. We were so excited and the boarding process was flawless. We literally walked right on at 1:30pm. We started our time at the Garden Cafe and there appeared to be a lot of selections for my three teens and my parents. Salads, soups, sandwiches, grilled items, and plenty of desserts. By the end of the cruise the ...
