Falls short of the luxury it claims for the wrong reasons

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Insignia

What about the customer

The Oceania Insignia is well refurbished - tasteful and easy to get around on. She came back across the Atlantic through a tropical storm and our group of 8 people all felt safe. The ship was remarkably stable despite the 15 ft waves and 42 mph winds for 24 hours. Yes the cabin is smaller because its a smaller ship and the entertainment is not the same as big liners - however it is still good ...

Excellent staff, good food but some niggles.

SO LITTLE TIME
10+ Cruises • Age 70s

We boarded in Barcelona for a Transatlantic cruise to New York before continuing to Montreal. Although comfortable the ship is looking its age with a surprising amount of silicone apparent in the cabin, and once you see that your eye is of course drawn to other deficiencies, of which there are many. To summarise: The good: All the staff were happy, courteous and obliging. To name a few, our ...

Not quite 6 star

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

We chose this cruise mainly for the itinerary, which unfortunately changed several times. some of which i could understand and others not so much. The Navigator is a small ship and is quite an old lady, but saying that we had a great time onboard with a great crew and really nice fellow passengers. The food choice was the largest I have ever seen aboard any ship and was mostly very good with ...

Third time on Victoria and still good

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Queen Victoria

We chose Victoria again as it was going to Rio de Janeiro including a long trip along the Amazon. We started from Southampton and flew back from Rio. The ship carried on finally returning to Southampton. On board all food in the Britannia, Lido and Verandah restaurants was excellent. Staff service in all areas was also excellent. The ship's condition was very good overall and for those yet to ...

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Royal Clipper

This was my third time on this cruise line and I still like it a lot. I like the small ship and the fact that it really sails. The ship never felt crowded, I could always find private space, except in the shade. Shade was in short supply and the no saving seats policy did not seem to be enforced. Staff is excellent, always friendly and polite. I feel that the quality of the food has gone ...

Great sailing/cruise adventure

We chose this cruise on the recommendation of friends. With only 200+ passengers, it was an exceptionally friendly/personal cruise among the passengers. Since there’s no elevators, there was no worry about being hit by electric wheelchairs or walkers. The food is outstanding and served 5 times each day Service by the waiters, cabin stewards, etc., was of highest quality The ports visited ...

First Atlantic Crossing!

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Viking Sky

I had never done an Atlantic crossing, and the itinerary looked great. And - it was on Viking, so I felt it would be the best experience. For the most part, it was really interesting and met/exceeded my expectations. Only a few drawbacks for me: 1. Really bad weather and rough seas the first 4 days, obviously NOT Viking's fault, but I did not enjoy that much time being very seasick. Thank ...

Many relaxing sea days

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Viking Sky

One of the reasons we chose this particular cruise was because of the stop in Bermuda. Well, on embarkation, we found out we couldn’t go to The Azores because of weather. We went south to Madeira instead. But, since we went south and then across the Atlantic from that point, we were too far south to go to Bermuda. We had hoped to see Bermuda to figure out where we wanted to go back and stay. ...

Rocking Viking Sky

We embarked from Lisbon on Dec.16th at 11:00 PM. On Dec.17th at 12:00PM the Captain made announcement we are unable to sail to the Azores due to stormy seas and for our passengers safety. We are sailing to Mederia and will be there tomorrow. The ship was rolling sideways all day long and into the night. I have been on 60+ cruises and I know when the stabilizers are not on, the ship doesn't roll ...

We have been on four Viking River cruises (China, Russia, Passage to Eastern Europe, Windmills and Tulips) and two Viking Ocean Cruises (From the Caribbean to the Amazon and Western Mediterranean Explorer). We make our choices of cruises based on itinerary. We have traveled on brands of ships with 50 and 100 passengers which we enjoyed very much. The only cruise ship bigger than a Viking Ocean was ...
