The cruise was FANTASTIC. Best cruise of our 17 cruises to date. The scenery was SPECTACULAR along the Norwegian Fjords. Visiting the northernmost point of Europe at 71 degrees north was a thrill. Visiting Scotland and London was equally as exciting. The Viking Sun is a VERY well managed ship. the crew was VERY friendly and professional. The ship was spotlessly clean and the food was well ...
We chose this cruise specifically to experience the midnight sun, but unfortunately shortly after crossing the Arctic Circle the weather became an issue. Still we did experience twenty-four hour daylight which nevertheless was awesome. Sailing into the fjords was a marvellous experience.
Visiting Bergen and seeing Bryggen Wharf was fascinating. The visit to Ovre Eide Farm was very worthwhile ...
Everything was great...ship,crew, tours,food!
Without question Viking is the best!
The cabin was well designed so you have great space, as well as a open bed room living room space.
The bathroom was wonderful...heated floor twin sinks heated towel rack , full size shampoo and conditioner.
Shower was the best of any ship we have been on.
The open seating in the dinning room was great ...
Friends had traveled on Viking river cruises and decided to try Viking Ocean cruises. I have traveled a lot and been on Holland, America, Celebrity, Azamara, Royal Caribbean, Princess, small ship of 50 passengers with a Grand Circle Travel, and Carnival. I have also been on many tours.
Itinerary is always what I look at first. Even though I had been to Norway this itinerary stopped at ...
I took a chance and boy did it pay off. Fantastic shore excursions, biking, crabbing and visiting with locals in their home were real highlights. The sea days were great for the spa and hot tub. I actually found time to go to the fitness center.
The food was out of this world. My wife likes poached eggs. One of the cooks realized this and had them ready for her every morning.
We will ...
I spent years researching how we could visit the Baltic taking a cruise. Viking came out the winner and we were not disapointed. Nelson looked after our well designed cabin so well and always welcomed us with a cheery smile. She was a lovely looking boat and you rarely felt crowded. The musicians were excellent and set a soothing tone. The feeding choices were varied if a little bland and the ...
It's no wonder that Viking Ocean Cruises are rated so highly. They offer elegant, beautifully maintained mid-size ships with state of the art technology and valuable included amenities not offered on other cruise lines: free-wi-fi, wine with meals, excursions in every port and no extra charge for specialty restaurants. These all add tremendously to the value received. Plus, they cater to the ...
Our first cruise and we were not disappointed. We booked a penthouse veranda and the room was quiet, well designed, aesthetically pleasing and importantly with a comfortable well sized bed. The food, ambience staff and overall experience was 5*.
Be aware that Viking promote and market heavily in the USA and a small number of American guests were loud and rude, especially in the select ...
We chose this cruise because it offered a chance to visit Russia and tour the Hermitage Museum. The ports of call were all very interesting and different. Some of the ports were former communist bloc cities, therefore eye opening as to their progress since the fall of Communism. The panoramic bus tours are not the best way to get a flavor of the ports but at least gave an overview of the ...
We had taken a "Baltic cruise" in 2008 (on Princess cruise line) but wanted an opportunity to enjoy Norway prior to repeating a visit to the northern capitals. We are not disappointed at all, partly due to the smaller size of the boat (900), but also we did the pre-tour in Norway. We had the opportunity to revisit Oslo and particularly enjoyed the Vigelandparken. We then boarded a train to cross ...
