We did mostly eat at the World Cafe (amazing sushi and crab legs), we did also enjoy Manfrettis and the Restaurant a few times. We also did use room service. The food was wonderful. No complaints. I cannot eat gluten and I was completely taken care of. I felt safe and appreciated the extra care they went to. Our room was a delight. The bed was comfy and for us we felt spoiled with having ...
We chose Viking Ocean because of excellent experiences with Viking River Cruises, of which we have been on four in Europe. We were not disappointed.
Before I write the review for this cruise, a word about the ocean:
Traveling the North Sea and Bay of Biscay is a completely different animal from cruising the Caribbean, where most “past-cruisers” have gone. Here you really are “at sea,” with ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary...Bergen Norway to Barcelona. Wonderful cruise except for the stormy seas and the bland food and the constant, annoying cello and violins!
The food....the Restaurant took at least 2 hrs to complete a meal, but the food was better here than in the World Cafe (buffet). Mancini's was great, but not for all the time. We never did the Captain's Table, you ...
All values are excellent combined into very high rate of “VALUELITY”. Good shore excursions included in each of the port plus some free time for self exploration. We do not require ourself much regarding the cabin, but it was roomier than we need since we spent most of the time in and about. Food was unbelievable, especially at the specialty restaurants, and most surprisingly was from the GRILL. ...
We booked this cruise because of the itinerary and my wife's experience with Viking river cruises. Both the destinations and the hospitality were outstanding! The tour guides with real historical chops and the resident historians were stars. The food was on par with a legend of Valhalla (see what I did there?) We loved creativity of the Chef's Table, and were surprised it wasn't more ...
We have travelled the world extensively but never been to Scandinavia or Russia so this looked like a good way to do a first experience in that part of the world. When we looked at the various options it seemed like Viking was the best for many reasons. First among those reasons was that it was a smaller ship which meant that everything was not so crowded with only 930 guests. All cabins were ...
We are interested in this part of the world due to our heritage and were very excited to see all the delightful tour spots. We also met up with our high school foreign exchange student from 50 years ago in Bergen Norway.
We loved every minute of the cruise and everything on board the ship was just perfect. You could not ask for better facilities. The food is just terrific in every way and ...
We have gone on four river cruises with Viking, so we knew we'd have a high-calibre experience. However, this was our first ocean cruise. We've avoided ocean cruises because the idea of sailing with thousands of people on a behemoth of a ship held no appeal. But Viking's small ship experience is something completely different. No tendering in from a ship docked in open water, 5 minutes to ...
We had never been to Iceland, Norway, Finland St Petersburg, Copenhagen etc. this cruise touched all of these countries. Also a small ship cruise no more than 900 people
We were very impressed with the attention to detail, the attitude of the staff their service was exemplary. The cruise director Bevin was so engaging and brought great talent to the ship.
The variety of restaurants and the ...
We took this cruise to try out Viking and see if they were worth it and they are! Brand new ship, perfect size, very happy, friendly crew willing to serve. Excellent food, very good entertainment and all around great time.
Very good excursions. Only one included excursion that my wife took in Dublin was a total disaster due to a very bad male tour guide who did a very poor job. My two paid for ...
