We picked this cruise because it offered stops at many interesting places that are otherwise not easy to get to. We chose Viking because of the excellent experience we had on previous river cruises with the company. The ship is beautiful. Very clean and well laid out, and tastefully appointed. A variety of public rooms and places to eat from quiet to very sociable. Service is friendly and ...

Beautiful ship, but not a 5-star cruise

We chose this cruise because of its itinerary. We cruised from Bergen to Montreal. To start with, we had booked air through the Viking Air department, something we will never do again. We had assumed they would be more proactive on our behalf than it turned out they were prepared to be. Just days before departure we were facing Hurricane Irma, and they made no effort to fly us out early. We spent ...

This was our first experience with a Viking Ocean cruise after three Viking River cruises. We got off to a bumpy start because our luggage didn't arrive until the next morning. We were nicely accommodated until we finally got our luggage. The ship is beautiful and pristine and the food incredible. The staff is so friendly and helpful and they helped to make the cruise the success that it was. ...

The ship is fantastic and the food was incredible. Our room was a delux veranda and other than the closet door being difficult to access it was certainly adequate. The bathroom was quite large with lots of storage. The balcony was comfortable with its chairs and table. I have had better room stewards on other ships but room service was outstanding. Service in the bars was very good but quite ...

my wife and i loved the theme of the cruise, in the footsteps of the Vikings. we were able to go places where we were not likely to go, the Faroe Islands, Norway, Greenland, L'anse aux meadows. we saw icebergs up close, large and small. including the pre-cruise excursion we were away from daily responsibilities for three weeks and we ate well, enjoyed massages, went on excellent shore ...

We chose Viking because of the advertised quality of the cruise and Viking exceeded our expectations in virtually every way. Our cabin was new, spacious and very comfortable. The variety of restaurants was outstanding and we were always pleased with our meals. The only exception were the fried eggs at breakfast which were sometimes overdone. We went on virtually every complimentary excursion ...

We purchased our trip in Fall 2016. My wife had double knee replacements and we were told we could get first class or business class seats on the flight over to Europe; we would pay the upgrade cost (fine with us!). We waited in July and had to call twice to get our flights. When we were finally able to get ahold of someone we were told that due to the “ CONTRACT” we were only permitted couch. We ...

Beautiful ship but......not much to do onboard during days at sea

The Viking Sky is indeed a beautiful ship, tastefully decorated with wonderful art. The common areas are inviting, especially the Explorers Lounge on the 7th deck, which offers fabulous ocean vistas. The ship is spotlessly maintained. We have taken several other cruises and were excited about visiting new countries We should have had the best time ever! However, Viking dropped the ball on ...

In the Wake of the Vikings: Another Superb Viking Ocean Experience

We booked Wake of the Vikings almost as soon as it was published; we loved the itinerary, and the out-of-the-ordinary route. We really wanted the Bergen extension, which was already fully booked. We knew we could do it on our own, and at the same time, we like the Viking process, where they help handle all the baggage and transfers, so we called, almost every week. Finally, we said to ourselves ...

Traveled with Viking several times before this cruise. Like Viking and cruise went to some places we had not visited before. Only let down was not being able to stop in Shetland Islands but it was because of bad weather Viking did give us a full refund for the shore excursions missed. Liked the other shore excursions( many were included for no extra charge) All were lead by very informative ...
