Exceptional Experience

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Viking Star

We chose this cruise because it had ports of call in countries we have not yet been able to visit. Unfortunately, we were not able to visit Estonia, Russia and Helsinki. This did not deter us from having a great time at the ports we did visit. We would have liked to not have the two additional nights in Oslo as we did the pre-cruise in Oslo. However it did give us the opportunity to see the ...

Viking is fabulous in every way!

Having loved every Viking River Cruise we've ever been on, (and having been disappointed with other ocean cruise lines,) we decided to put Viking to the test. We could not be happier. Viking is a class act in every way! We have been on less expensive cruises, but by the time they nickel and dime you to death, it comes out about even. Viking gives you a free excursion at every ...

Plague ship of broken promises!

Hurtigruten does not care about its’ customers, this much is clear. It cares only about revenues. It is an arrogant organisation with contempt for the law and those it takes money from. Let’s be quite direct. This is hosteling at 5* prices and any commitments made by the company are freely discardable at their discretion. So why have I come to this conclusion following a trip on “The most ...

A wonderful experience.

Good weather, a ship half empty, and a very fine navigation program. Land excursion very costly, as beverages onboard. Wonderful French speaking guide. Wonderful Chef. These cruise is largely weather dependant, so... hope for the best. Area for improvement: expeditions more accessible, beverage as well, better transportation to/from the ship, avoid additional costs such as ...

This was our first cruise and we chose it in the advice of our local travel agent. We were not disappointed! The service provided by the staff was excellent throughout the trip. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff were keen to know of any allergies and careful to ensure food was appropriate. The breakfasts catered for all tastes and the lunches and dinners provided a real ...

Deep insight into Norway

We choose this journey to see the beautiful Norwegian landscape on the traditional "Postschiff", hoping to maybe get in contact to Norwegians and gain a deeper insight into the country than on a normal cruise ship. The excellent expedition team fulfilled this wish more than perfectly. They offered lectures, answered questions, always friendly and helpfully. The cabins are not luxurious but ...

Selected because we wanted to see the Northern Lights and the cruise was available in a Black Friday sale. Overall was a excellent adventure but even with a reduced sale price it was still expensive. Northern Lights appeared but if I have small tip it is to use a good phone camera for best results. I have a decent DSLR but a lot of playing with settings. Those with expensive Apple and Samsung ...

We selected this cruise owing to the relaxed atmosphere, lack of formality, range of activities and trips available following recommendation by a friend. It was everything we hoped for and more. The restaurant food on full board was excellent with a meat , fish and vegetarian selection at each sitting. The team on board supporting exploration were excellent and all staff skilled in good ...

Stormy weather for our January Cruise

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Nordnorge

We did enjoy our cruise, but we only had a slight glimmer of the Northern Lights on one evening & the cruise had to be curtailed because of exceptionally stormy weather, and a technical issue with the ship. Norway had floods, roads blocked by snow and truly difficult conditions to contend with. We were also unable to dock at some ports, because of the weather. The excursion to the North Cape had ...
