We have done several Viking cruIses before so we were expecting more,
The shore excursions were less than expected - even the extra cost ones were less than expected. The buses were full and uncomfortable. One couldn't even make it up the hill out of town and all the guide was worried about was if she was going to be back in time. The walk to the buses was long and over wet and slippery ...
A friend had the Northern Lights on her Bucket List and I gladly accepted the offer to join her on this cruise. It all started out great until our first night at sea. The ocean wasn’t that rough, but the ship was rolling and rocking a bit. This was when we discovered our cabin, #6054 had a serious noise problem. It sounded like Thor was banging his hammer on a huge metal pipe under our cabin’s ...
We chose this cruise because we love Norway, and wanted to visit in winter to try to see the northern lights. Viking offered this cruise beginning with two days in Bergen, giving us time to both recover from jet lag and enjoy shopping in Bergen, We also paid Viking to arrange our air travel, so as to insure a seamless arrival in the event of any disruption.
Well, one of the flights ultimately ...
Cruise was fine. Service was great, food was great, and the entertainment was great. Ship was very clean and modern. Couldn't find any dirt on the entire ship and cabin. The excursions were just OK. Some were better than others. We had done a river boat cruise with Viking before this and noticed that you had more time in ports, since you didn't have to dock in industrial ports and bus thru ...
Chose the cruise to celebrate our anniversary. We are Viking River aficionados and had spectacular River Cruises on the Rhine, Danube. Moselle, Duoro.
Wanted to try a Viking ocean cruise expecting the fantastic time we always had with Viking.
The tours that were offered were shameful. Even the guides could not understand why the time was so short and why the best places were not included. I ...
Viking had been recommended by friends. Overall the ship is beautiful and service is excellent. Tours were disappointing. For the most part the tour guides did not offer comprehensive in-depth perspectives. Many just plain boring and blah. The worst were in Norway where the guides are not local. The best tour was Soviet Flashback in Estonia where the guide gave us a rendition of what life ...
The ship, crew, cabin, and ports were truly wonderful. The experience was tarnished only by the Viking booked flights being non-existent when we arrived at the airport. We were two of 13 cruisers, that I know of, who had to pay for new IcelandAir tickets to get on our return flights after already having paid Viking! There were no IcelandAir desks at the Arlanda airport. We had to speak with SAS ...
We returned from a fifteen day cruise, "Into The Midnight Sun" from Bergen to London on the Viking Star. We had sailed on this ship soon after she entered service in 2015. It was a Christmas cruise on the Mediterranean. While the very talented singers, dancers and other acts were great, their material wasn't. The same (not first class) shows that we saw two years ago were replayed on this last ...
My husband and I booked a Baltic cruise with Viking in early 2016 for a May 2017 trip. Having been on an amazing Viking river cruise, we convinced three other couples to sign up too.....what a mistake! Our trip had a rough start due to weather/airline problems in the US. When we finally arrived at Bergen, we were whisked away from the airport before being allowed to get our luggage.....so we ...
We chose this cruise because of the route and stops on this cruise The cruise was from Bergen Norway stopping at the Shetland Islands, the Farro Islands, Iceland, Greenland, the Viking archeological site in Newfoundland, and then down the St.Lawrence River to Montreal. This was the first transatlantic crossing for the Viking Star which was first put into service in 2015 and had been in service in ...
