Service in restaurant: Could be poor. Twice I sat down by a window. The table was empty. I cleared the crumbs as there was no one around. Great views of the scenery and that is why I came on the cruise. I got told off b two waiters that the table was not accessible because had not been cleared. This was not service to me. Cooked food did not look appetizing to me, not hot. I ...

Came on board to accompany a friend and to see the beautiful landscape of Norway. Get ready for many non smiling passengers. The staff can be found doing multiple job assignments. Your room can be attended to by the wait staff. I was happy that our server was attentive to special dietary restrictions. Most speak English fairly well and one guide spoke 6 languages. He seemed like the most ...

Some highlights, some disappointments. I'd do it differently next time.

I did the Northbound Voyage from Bergen all the way to Kirkenes with my mom in Fall 2017. This was my first cruise experience. I'll start with the good parts. Good Thing #1 -- The boat's facilities (ours was the MS Nordnorge) were pretty nice. Recently renovated, everything was clean and in good working shape. I most enjoyed the two jacuzzis and the lounges on the top deck. Our cabin was ...

Zuiderdam I sailed from Bergen to NYC.Sailing through Hermine the captain made the correct call missing Nova Scotia and head for NYC. I enjoyed the city for a full day.Hop on hop off for$64.00 with ferry. It appeared as though they are short staffed rarely extra staff was called in when it got super busy.I was disappointed in finding out the ship had no self serve laundry.$30.00 abag or $110.00 ...

There were four of us visiting Norway Winter chasing the Northern lights on this working ship Interesting experience 3 of us very experienced travelers The ship was well presented similar to other cruise ships decorated for Christmas. The food was average but we did appreciate this was in winter the buffet dinners were not that good so much fish but it was Norway. The service staff in the ...

We were very happy with all aspects of cruise with just a few exceptions. Dining room. We were instructed to use a hand sanitizer as we entered the dining room which was good. However, the bread was sliced by customers and most times did not bother to use the towel just bare hands. The cheese tray which was beautiful with many cheeses and fruits was also unprotected with people cutting and ...

Hurtigruten—the largest cruise line you never heard of. Norwegian owned and operated, the line owns a fleet of 16 cruise ships, most of which travel up and down the west coast of Norway. The line also offer cruises to Greenland and Antarctica. Our Cruise We took one of the 12-day Norwegian coastal cruises that both started and ended in Bergen, Norway, stopping about 30 times along the way. ...

We have just returned from a South to North trip. Some of the experiences were great, the ship was comfortable and the crew friendly but we will not be going again in the late spring for the wildlife as we'd originally intended. From the UK everything is very, very expensive. More than we'd anticipated. £10 for a lager, £40+ for a run of the mill Pinot Grigio, £80-£100 for a 2 hour sightseeing ...

Hurtigruten Norwegian Coastal Voyage (Bergen>Kirkenes>Bergen) 30 July – 10 August MS Midnatsol Overall a very good but also memorable trip – however, it was memorable for the wrong reason. Malfunction/break down of machinery/equipment on ships impacts adversely, to a greater or lesser extent, on passengers. The ship operating company, in this case, Hurtigruten, can be judged by how they ...

Cruised Norwegian fjords for my wife's 60th birthday. Everything was most enjoyable except for the cabin quality. We booked together with another couple for a cabin, with porthole/outside view, but may be restricted. We all paid the same price. Hurtigruten would not provide cabin location/quality until we boarded. Our cabin must have been the worst possible cabin, whilst our friends had a ...
