Overall, we loved the ship - the size was about perfect to have more amenities but not too many people. The stateroom and public spaces were very comfortable and well done without being ostentatious.
The food was generally very good but there were some definite misses. The asian style dishes were generally excellent as were breakfasts and lunch in the cafe. We found most pastries to be ...
From the minute we walked on board we could feel the elegance of a Viking Ship. Our State Room was ready and it was what I expected and more. The choices of food are outstanding, and many I have never had before. Service on the ship made us feel like family, all crew members we encountered go above and beyond to help you. Some excursions were cancelled due to high winds at port. Whenever ...
What we liked: Everything Viking did was great! The ship was modern, spotless, right-sized....just an overall wonderful ship. The staff and crew were very friendly and always willing to help. We always found something good to eat and gained the customary poundage. The destinations were fabulous on this itinerary.
What we didn't like as much: Sea days were somewhat boring. Yes, we could ...
This was our very first cruise. On the whole it was good, and we plan to sail with Viking again, but there were some hiccups.
About a year before the cruise, they shifted us to a different ship leaving about a week later. And a few months after that, they announced that three of the planned stops had been changed. We were very disappointed to miss Belfast, but Isle of Man was very nice and ...
A great cruise to see the various areas of the British Isles, with Bergen Norway as a bonus. Enjoyed each port which included ones in Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and England. Starting in Bergen added variety and interest to the cruise. The Mars ship was nice, clean, comfortable, and well laid out. The ship’s stabilizers allow for relatively smooth sailing even in stormy conditions. Crossing the ...
This was our third viking cruise, (the first two were euro rivers,) and second ocean cruise ever.
I appreciate everything Viking does and tries to be. A quieter, more intimate experience with cultural enrichment and classical entertainment. The loud, roudy ocean liners with casinos, kiddos, and cigarette smoke are so not our scene.
Viking ocean cruises are a better compromise for those who ...
We choose this cruise from Bergen Norway around the Brittish Isles to London. This was similar price to a two week land travel package but also included all our food and drink. We tipped the scale a bit by upgrading some excursions. It was all worhwhile.
Seas were calm. The spa is renound and includes steam room anow grotto therapy pool with a hot tub sauna and an artic plunge cold pool or ...
We chose this cruise because of ports to visit. It was really great. Food was good, service was exceptional. Ship was beautiful! I really like that there were few to no lines for anything and the few lines I encountered were very short.
Don’t be too worried about the weather. Rain was predicted every day and it did rain but not much on most days, not hard and we even saw the sun far more ...
We traveled on the Waterways of the Tsars with Viking a few years ago before covid hit. It was an exceptional experience. We decided to try the ocean cruise combined with a river cruise for my wife's and my 65th birthdays. Together we totally enjoyed the ship. The staff was superb and the food outstanding. We were quite disappointed with all of the land excursions. I guess we were spoiled on ...
The impetus for choosing the British Isles Explorer Ocean cruise was the discovery through ancestry searches that both my husband and I had family origins in Scotland. This specific cruise afforded us the opportunity to visit six countries and 12 ports including five in Scotland. The four speakers who gave daily talks about the places we were going to visit, along with the ship's Norwegian ...
