Two problems - skipped a key port and challenging for someone with a dairy sensitivity! The itinerary for this trip looked great but we were unable to stop in Edinburgh, one of the main stops we were interested in. We spent the day cruising around the Orkney Islands instead. The scenery was beautiful, but we were really looking forward to Edinburgh. Rumors were that the ship that was blocking ...
This was our third viking cruise, (the first two were euro rivers,) and second ocean cruise ever.
I appreciate everything Viking does and tries to be. A quieter, more intimate experience with cultural enrichment and classical entertainment. The loud, roudy ocean liners with casinos, kiddos, and cigarette smoke are so not our scene.
Viking ocean cruises are a better compromise for those who ...
After 25 cruises, we thought we'd try Viking due to excellent reviews. We were underwhelmed. Firstly, two important ports were canceled (Edinburgh- another ship unexpectedly remained in the berth reserved for our ship) and Dublin due to poor weather. We received no compensation for port duties and missed excursions; we were offered $500 credit towards a future cruise. The service in the dining ...
We chose this cruise because others told us about their wonderful experiences and they were right! Planning the trip on the website was so easy. Filling out the forms and having access to important information throughout the process was extremely helpful. The transfers and security were run seamlessly. Every single staff member that we encountered, was professional, courteous and very kind. The ...
We choose this cruise from Bergen Norway around the Brittish Isles to London. This was similar price to a two week land travel package but also included all our food and drink. We tipped the scale a bit by upgrading some excursions. It was all worhwhile.
Seas were calm. The spa is renound and includes steam room anow grotto therapy pool with a hot tub sauna and an artic plunge cold pool or ...
We chose this cruise because of ports to visit. It was really great. Food was good, service was exceptional. Ship was beautiful! I really like that there were few to no lines for anything and the few lines I encountered were very short.
Don’t be too worried about the weather. Rain was predicted every day and it did rain but not much on most days, not hard and we even saw the sun far more ...
The entire trip from pre to post extensions was everything we hoped for. These countries were on my bucket list (Norway, Wales, Scotland, Ireland) and can not wait to go back and explore more. I should have packed less and washed my clothes more often, this was our 3rd trip and I never seem to remember how small the closet is. The staff went out of their way to make sure my and my husbands food ...
While we have taken a couple Viking River Cruises in the past, this was our first Viking Ocean Cruise.....and a wonderful choice. The Viking Venus was a fantastic ship. Food was always good and plentiful. The evening entertainment always interesting. The crews were most attentive and always ready to help.
Shore excursions were well planned and all interesting. Shore time for shopping and ...
I chose the cruise because I loved the itinerary. I loved the ship's clean Scandinavian decor. The food was excellent quality. I particularly enjoyed the regional menu changes with each port. The afternoon tea was enjoyable. We had the Silver Spirits package which was reasonably priced. We felt the wine selections available with the package at dinner could have been more extensive. The wine policy ...
