We took a tour through China which included a cruise on the Yangtze River for 6 days. The entire trip was amazing! Each day was a new adventure. We were served wonderful food from each region we were in (although some people chose the American food choices) and made great new friends. Our tour guide, Duan, was so informative, interesting and fun, and led us through time in his stories. ...

Wonderful experience! The tours guides were knowledgeable on all subject matter related to the country and made the transportation transfers effortless for us. They made everyone feel welcome and special. We arrived a day late because of Airline problems and were worried about being met and what we would have to do to rejoin the tour. When we arrive in Beijing we were greeted by a guide who ...

This was my first Viking experience. The service and attention to detail was exceptional. I did not worry about handling my luggage or transfers. There were enough activities to keep you busy if you wanted to do something and also enough space to relax on enjoy the cruise experience. The was an extensive variety in gourmet food selection with every meal. The river boat is an older model with ...

We loved this trip from start to finish. When we arrived in Beijing we were met by the tour guide and quickly on our way to the hotel. They were with us all of the way to the last stop. All of the hotels were unbelievable and the check in was so easy. It was nice to not have to worry about luggage etc. and always quickly get to our room. Our tour guide (Geo) was very knowledgeable about where ...

We enjoyed the whole trip, The tour guide was excellent. He did an outstanding job. Very knowledgeable, accommodating to your needs, nice and pleasant to be with. The places that we visited were all wonderful to see. Very educational and lots of history that one can do a second visit and learn more about the culture and people. Our "cruise" began in Beijing which included visits to the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Old Summer Palace. We also visited a 200 year old community near the Forbidden City where citizens adhere to older customs and a simpler culture. During the evening, we attended a Kung Fu show at a local theater. Next, on to the ancient capital Xian where we were bused to the ...

Viking went over and above board to ensure we saw as much as possible in the time that we had. All my bucket list items were covered and I managed to bring back all the souvenirs on my list! Our tour escort was knowledgeable, courteous and available to solve any problem. I left my keys in Xi'an (we had a very early flight) and they were waiting for me in Shanghai! In Chongqing we received an ...

We did the Rooftops of the World with an extension to Hong Kong. The tour started in Beijing and ended in Hong Kong. We spent 3 days in Beijing before we moved on to the next city. We traveled both by air and ship since covering China and Tibet is a huge distance. Most intra-country flights were under 2 hours. It is always so nice to have the representatives/guides from Viking meeting us at ...

We traveled with Viking River Cruises on the Imperial Jewels of China trip (April, 2016) in the direction from Beijing to Shanghai. The trip was absolutely wonderful! The Viking staff took care of everything for us; we felt so pampered. Airfare: We used the AirPlus program with Viking so we could choose our airline and flights. The price was "ok," but about a month prior to the trip (and after ...
