Amazing first time cruise on the Rhine River
"Extra days on the front end also help make sure you get to your cruise on time (aka if delays) and give you a couple of jet lag recovery days before the cruise. We stayed 5 extra nights in the old part of Amsterdam and had a wonderful time exploring on our own...."Read More

Lives up to the hype!

We've been interested in a European River Cruise for some time, and Viking did not disappoint! The ship was immaculate, the service top notch, and the food was outstanding. We loved the free excursions in each port. Our cruise director, Oliver, was on top of everything, especially during the strike in France. Viking went above and beyond to assure the strike did not interfere with our ...

Viking exceeded all our expectations for our first time cruise. The Viking cruise overall value and quality are top notch. Sites, tours, communication, ship, staff, ship captain, staff leaders, gourmet food, state room, entertainment, cleanliness, service, comfort, etc were all outstanding. Cruising on a river, only adults and the very small number of people are perfect. Evening entertainment was ...

We had always wanted to go on a European river cruise. The Rhine River itinerary was perfect. We enjoyed exploring the beautiful historic cities. The day spent floating down the Rhine was exceptional. See the many castles and hearing about their history was a once in a life time opportunity. Our excursions were enjoyable and informative. All of our guides were very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed ...

From the time we first set foot on the ship to check in to the time we left at our final destination it was a first class experience. The room was a French balcony with plenty of space and great views. Didn't need power converters since they have multiple USB post for charging electronics. The food was worth the full cruise price on its own. The food was so good we felt that food based excursions ...

We had taken a Viking River Cruise a few years ago so knew that we would be getting an excellent experience. We were not disappointed. The scenery along the river was gorgeous, the cities quite interesting, the food excellent and the accommodations very comfortable. We had the lowest category of stateroom, and we really didn't need anything more. A balcony room might be nice in warm weather, but ...

We chose this cruise because we had been planning a river cruise for a fews years. Every time we booked one, my husband had an illness (a stroke for one thing) that prevented us from taking the trip. Last August we thought we would give it one more chance and since the international airfare was free and the late fall trips were on sale, we booked it and we were finally able to take this ...

Summer Highlight!

Four neighbor couples recommended a Viking cruise when I was considering a summer adventure. When I received a catalog for free airfare, I decided to book! I still had to pay extra being a solo traveler; so I reserved a lower cabin. I didn't book extra night(s) before or after the cruise. I used Viking Air Plus for $50 extra to reserve flights, convenient for me. I missed seeing Amsterdam ...

Wonderful Rhine Getaway Cruise

The “Middle Rhine” is a beautiful cruise, spectacular scenery and wonderful shore excursions. Departed as soon as as we landed in Basal and missed exploring that city. Our second Viking cruise and both were fabulous. Viking does a great job of hiring great crew members that go out of their way to make your experience great. From Captain to Cabin Stewards, they were great. We enjoyed ...

This was our second cruise which we picked in order to see the Rhine River for our 38th anniversary in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. The worry of the travel logistics, being on time, Looking for tours, planning meals are all taken away, and what is left is just your sheer enjoyment. Great tours to the best and feature spectacular sights which is the expectation and what is delivered. ...

This is our second trip with Viking and as with the last one, we couldn't be happier. The ship, our cabin, the FOOD and the excursions were more than I could have expected. Being new to this traveling experience, I found both times that my comfort and pleasure were of utmost importance to this crew. They made every effort to make it personal. Learning our names and our food preferences, they ...
