"The next day she was leading a tour for Tauck at the Museumplein, saw us with our guide for the day, and made a point of coming over and saying hello.IN contrast to the Walking tour, we were given day-passes for the trams/subways and she was crystal clear on "training" us on how to use the system, on/off's, and orientations to get where ever we needed...."Read More

RHINE RIVER CRUISE (2023-09-24 TO 2023-10-02)
EMBARKATION 9/24
UBER driver arrived 10 minutes early than 5 AM reservation but that was fine. $2.90 airport surcharge, booking fee $9.14, reservation fee $5.00. LAS to ATL went off without a hitch, wheelchair was waiting right in the jet way and took us to the Delta lounge. Then arranged wheelchair to go to the gate for CDG. CDG is a maze ...
The entire crew was very nice to work with and helpful to the passengers. The food was very nice, with a wide variety of options. Many thanks to Gavin the cruise director who went above and beyond being helpful to those that need a little extra assistance. Be prepared for moderate to long walking on the shore visits. The amount of walking will be up to each individual. It is also helpful if you ...
I was going to be in Germany visiting family, and wanted to explore more of the region, and really wanted to go back to Heidelberg. This cruise offered it all. Not only did I see some new, beautiful areas, but enjoyed revisiting some. The included tours made it easy to have time to ourselves to explore on our own. The staff is welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable.
The captain was engaging ...
This was our first cruise on Viking. We have sailed in the past on many a other cruise line but after sailing on Viking this summer I can definitely say that Viking sets the standard by which all cruise lines should be judged. The amenities, gourmet food, attention to detail, knowledgeable staff, and wonderful land excursions make a Viking cruise a most enjoyable experience. I was singularly ...
This was my 5th Viking Cruise, second time doing the Rhine. Our very first Rhine Cruise was July 2015. Wow! Viking has changed! Many of the optional excursions were included in 2015. This time not much offered. Too many shuttles being used to get to towns and back to boat. The service has gone down. We weren’t even recognized for our 5th cruise! They did have a cocktail party for returning guests, ...
The first half of this cruise was terrible. We had Viking arrange our travel and will never do that again. We paid the extra $100 for air plus ($200 total) which was a total waste of money. No one ever contacted us about our travel and they booked the worst flights we have ever had going overseas. It took 18 hrs and we missed the entire of the first day of the cruise.
The first stop was ...
We had always heard from friends that Viking was the way to go when we visit Europe and they were right. We went on the Rhine Getaway and was able to see four different countries in eight days. We extended our trip in Amsterdam by two days. Everything was first-class from the food, tours, staff, locations visited, accommodations, etc. The tour guides were locals who knew everything about the area ...
Very enjoyable trip. They will plan everything for you. Some ports were right at the city center and others were a bus ride away. We did several individual excursions and Gavin, our cruise director, helped us with planning to make sure we were safely able to return to the ship particularly if it moved ports during the day. With that, if the ship is changing ports during the day then it moves ...
This was our 2nd Viking river cruise, the first being in France. We had high expectations since we had a great experience last time, and we were not disappointed. The ship, food, and staff were all excellent. Shout outs to Chris, Dali, Darwin, Darrin and Jules especially as we had a lot of interaction with them. Loved Cologne and Alsace. Would have liked more time in a couple of the places, ...
We chose this cruise based on our mutual interest in Germany, and in order to enjoy a river cruise with friends. The cruise provided insight into the historical significance of the Rhine. We were provided with ample opportunities to enjoy the regions various features, including the mountains, hamlets, and countryside.
During the shore visits tours included a cuckoo clock manufacturing shop, ...
