Basel to Amsterdam…an area we had not explored…last time on Uniworld was 2008….much improved since then, the cabin was a suite on Princess deck 4**, while pricey we enjoyed all the little perks like the well stocked frig, snacks, loads of storage for a river boat plus the little balcony. Tho for the most part the weather was typical of that time of year, cloudy followed by rain and more cloudy…the ...
This trip from Basel to Amsterdam over 13 days was so good. Last year we went on the Danube from Budapest to Prague but this has much more scenic vistas. My number one tip is to book your trip through Costco. We got a shipboard credit of $300 and a cash card for $1300. On the ship the crew was amazing and so hard working. The guests were very friendly to each other and we got to know some ...
We contracted this cruise with others through a common travel agent and received great value. The rooms on the 3rd level are quite small, requiring my wife and I to signal each other as to where we were headed in the room in order to make space for us to pass. There is sufficient closet space, few drawers, a good safe, and interestingly the wall covers have a foam base which eliminates all noise ...
The cabins were beautiful with a lot of amenities. I loved the heated towels and fresh flowers among many other delightful amenities. Breakfast and lunch were buffets .They were both really good especially the lunch. The lunches were the best I ever had on all of my 26 cruises of many cruise lines.I have to say dinner is just okay, but the desserts were wonderful!! our tours were very good some ...
Our prior uniworld cruise was so good we went again. The room on this ship was bigger with more up to date features. The only issue many of us had was the speed of the internet which was too slow for FaceTime and other internet activities. The food was excellent quality and diversity of options. All the staff throughout the ship could t do more for you. They were attentive and very visible ...
Items that needed improvement:
1. The on-board musicians (husband and wife) were not of high quality. Most passengers did not enjoy. On 2 separate nites, local musicians performed and they were excellent.
2. While on ship, more activities should have been organized such as trivia contests, in depth history mini lectures, etc.
3. Scrambled eggs at breakfast were barely warm
4. The ...
The SS Antoinette was a beautiful ship and the personal service was so impressive. We stayed on the upper deck with a balcony that had an automatic window that we loved to open and watch the river go by at night. The staff on board quickly learned our names and our favorite cocktails each day. We arrived thinking that the two of us just wanted to spend our 25th anniversary alone because we have ...
This was our 3rd Uniworld river cruise and our 6th river cruise overall. We have enjoyed every river cruise we have ever taken, but have stayed with Uniworld after our travel agent recommended that we switch to them. Uniworld's service is wonderful.
The excellent service starts the moment you get within eyesight of the embarkation area. The crew take your luggage and usher you onboard to a ...
River cruising's dirty little secret- sometimes you don't get to cruise. We knew the day before we left home the ship would not be meeting us in Basal. Met by a bus at the dock and transfer was very seamless. Taken to Kehl Germany, even further up the River than originally planned and sat there for four days (with a Viking Ship lashed to us for 3 days - that means people on that side of the boat ...
For starters, Uniworld neglected to inform us that there would be a pickup at our hotel due to high water at the embarkation point. The physical condition of the ship is very nice. Clean, modern, decor a bit overdone but still very nice. Unfortunately, a day or so into the cruise passengers began coming down with a respiratory ailment that spread very quickly with the result that when walking ...
