Won't be our last time on the Windstar

My husband and I along with friends had a wonderful 8 day cruise from Barcelona to Lisbon on the Windstar a couple of weeks ago. It was our friends first time on a small ship, but we had experienced both Sea Dream and the Star Clipper in the past, so had something to compare the experience with. Although we had thoroughly enjoyed our past trips we have to say that this recent trip was our ...

We took the 2 day pre-cruise option in Barcelona which really helped us adjust to the time zone. The Hotel Wilson was nice enough, had a little balcony and a small room and, on the fifth floor, we were not bothered by any street noise. Cruised to Palma, Sardinia, Corsica, and Elba. OUTSTANDING Windstar-hosted complimentary shore excursion in Palma - wines, tapas, tour of museum - just great - highlight of the cruise! Not to be missed. Walked around on our own at the other ports and they were nice with good shuttles, dining, and shopping options. Didn't hear of any other outstanding tours and many were l-o-n-g. Great crew ...

This was our fifth Windstar cruise and definitely not our last.  The Islands of the Western Mediterranean is only offered once each year, but for those of us who have cruised the Riviera coast from Barcelona to Rome in the past it is a wonderful alternative. It is also an opportunity to visit Spain, Italy and France in one cruise. For some reason, embarkation seemed more congested than usual. It ...

Barcelona to Lisbon

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Wind Star

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

We flew to Barcelona five days before our cruise and stayed in an apartment we rented. We had used miles to upgrade to Business Elite on Delta, and the extra for the upgradeable ticket was definitely worth it, as we were rested and able to hit the ground running when we landed in Barcelona. We boarded the Wind Star on October 20 at about 1:30 PM. We immediately saw some of the cruise from our ...
