We've been on the Epic before because of the places it went. We went on it this time for the same reason. Although we really liked the entertainment. Burn the Floor was fabulous!! The comedian was clean and very funny. Loved it.
To get to any level you can take the elevators or the stairs. In both cases you will need to be at either end of the ship. There is no middle passage except for ...
Check in at Barcelona quick and smooth. Stateroom was ready by 12.00
Balcony Stateroom 8012 was narrow meaning that two people could not get dressed at the same time without bumping into each other.
Restaurants.
Went to Garden Café self service for lunch first day as we were a party of 4 difficult to find a table to sit to together. This happened throughout the cruise.
Other meals. The ...
My main frustration was the fact that we do our own tipping . However on board we could not cancel so they took the money out and gave us a form to claim it back . I'm assuming this is in the hope people don't bother . On the form it says it takes two weeks for them to pay into my account . 7 weeks later almost and u am still waiting ( it's about $570 us ) not bad interest as I know others with ...
Background: platinum (but platinum seems easy to reach now).
Hotel pre-cruise: The Serras. It was wonderful and exceeded all expectations. This hotel caters to all senses and we will go back for sure. Great staff.
Embarkation: we were in the Haven, smooth embarkation.
Ship: sorry, was not our cup of tea. Badly designed ship and it must be more apparent when it's fully booked. The ...
In 2014, we had sailed on the NCL Getaway and had such a wonderful time that we decided to plan our next Family Trip on the 11 day Western Mediterranean Cruise on the NCL Epic (January 13 sailing from Barcelona). We were very excited to travel to each of the ports of call, they had been on our bucket lists of must visit before we die.
We flew in early to take advantage of the sites in ...
We booked this cruise because it was hard to refuse the price. We live in Florida. We flew in from Miami to Barcelona. I recommend you fly in a day early in case of flight issues. We were lucky. We were picked up but the NCL transfer which was very nice. They take you around Barcelona for free prior to getting on ship.
Nighttime dinners are not a problem with the choices and crowds but ...
We just returned from an 11 day western Mediterranean cruise on the NCL Epic (January 13 sailing from Barcelona). The ports of call were great but the ship was frustrating. Epic is a very large ship with no indoor space to view the ocean. Considering it was a January cruise, and it was too cold to be outside, the only time we could enjoy the ocean view was in the Garden Buffet, in the sauna, or ...
Well this was our first cruise (myself & 12yr son) and although probably not our last. Would be cruise with Norwegian again not sure.
Embarkation was good, although we were given the health declaration document in Italian instead of English, which was quickly sorted.
Once on board we found our cabin to find it was not made up to what it should have been. I had booked twin beds and it was ...
The ship is first class, everywhere is spotlessly clean, the cabins are kept clean and tidy, the sheets, pillowslips and towels are pure white and changed frequently, as are the rubbish bins.
There are various restaurants around the ship, the food served is A1 first class and really cannot be faulted, do not expect English cuisine it is mainly Italian based. My only real gripe is, that ...
we had booked the Heaven with a beverage and dining package. This was our 2. cruise with Norwegian, the first was on the Jade, now the Epic.
While both ships show age, the Jade was charming, even with the old carpeting and furniture.
the Epic had some renovation (carpet replacement, etc.) it still made a sad impression overall.
Right from the get go, we needed to have the clogged toilet ...
