We've been on the Epic before because of the places it went. We went on it this time for the same reason. Although we really liked the entertainment. Burn the Floor was fabulous!! The comedian was clean and very funny. Loved it.

Check in at Barcelona quick and smooth. Stateroom was ready by 12.00
Balcony Stateroom 8012 was narrow meaning that two people could not get dressed at the same time without bumping into each other.

Went to Garden Café self service for lunch first day as we were a party of 4 difficult to find a table to sit to together. This happened throughout the cruise.

My main frustration was the fact that we do our own tipping . However on board we could not cancel so they took the money out and gave us a form to claim it back . I'm assuming this is in the hope people don't bother . Background: platinum (but platinum seems easy to reach now).
Hotel pre-cruise: The Serras. It was wonderful and exceeded all expectations. This hotel caters to all senses and we will go back for sure. Great staff.

We booked this cruise because it was hard to refuse the price. We live in Florida. We flew in from Miami to Barcelona. I recommend you fly in a day early in case of flight issues. We were lucky. We were picked up but the NCL transfer which was very nice. They take you around Barcelona for free prior to getting on ship.

We just returned from an 11 day western Mediterranean cruise on the NCL Epic (January 13 sailing from Barcelona). The ports of call were great but the ship was frustrating. Epic is a very large ship with no indoor space to view the ocean. The ship is first class, everywhere is spotlessly clean, the cabins are kept clean and tidy, the sheets, pillowslips and towels are pure white and changed frequently, as are the rubbish bins.

we had booked the Heaven with a beverage and dining package. This was our 2. cruise with Norwegian, the first was on the Jade, now the Epic.
While both ships show age, the Jade was charming, even with the old carpeting and furniture.
