The Celebrity Infinity is an older ship but is maintained well and the cleaning staff are first rate.
Stateroom: we had a prime oceanview cabin. We had a super bargain rate for an inside cabin including classic drinks, wifi and onboard credit, so we took the chance and bid for an upgrade which was accepted - $160 pp. Our room was kept spotless. The furnishings were a bit worn but clean. We had ...
We sailed on the Celebrity Edge in cabin with the Infinite Veranda. We were happy with our room. The location was quiet. The exterior view we had was great. I was nervous about this new infinite veranda design after reading several negative reviews, but we both loved it and used our balcony daily. We have sailed on several cruises before, all balcony rooms. This was the first time we experienced a ...
It's been our second cruise on MSC. The first one was 4 years ago on MSC Meraviglia to Norway and Copenhagen. We are frequent cruisers - 3 times with Celebrity, one with NCL and one with Diamond Princess. We tried 7 trips with 4 different cruise companies, we therefore could give a fair and honest comments as we don’t believe some previous comments on this site.
The new ship World Europa is big ...
This was our first cruise with Celebrity and although we had a great time and the ports of call were spectacular, there were a few somewhat disappointing issues. Although the food, overall, was delicious, we found service at the bars and coffee bar to be lacking. The bartenders/baristas routinely ignored us, and were not friendly or helpful. We had upgraded to Concierge Class but had to ask for ...
We chose this cruise with our friends because the ports of call were pretty close to where we wanted to visit in the Mediterranean. Also the pricing seemed to be pretty competitive.
As with everything when we go on holidays, there are good and bad, pros and cons, highs and lows and this cruise was no exception.
Firstly, the highs ...

Barcelona ~ Trieste (Venice) in September was the perfect time to go.
We arrived in Barcelona stayed a few days before our cruise to check out the sights and gastronomy Barcelona had to offer. It doesn’t disappoint! We stayed up on a hill in a renovated hospital turned 5* La Floridia. It overlooked the sea, had gentle breezes and amazing pool with outdoor patio seating.
But this is not ...
I chose the 21 Odyssey because our favorite line didn't go to Gibraltar. This and Turkey was new to me. Some of the port calls are too short, by the time you bus to where you're going and back it eats up most of the stop. Like Kotor, Montenegro. Our tour was to Budva, historic Kotor, St. Tryphon and the Maritime Museum. By the time we got back from Budva, we had 45 minutes for the remaining ...
We had never done a cruise prior to this,...ever and chose this route as we we on holiday in Italy and we could pick it up from Naples.
However we didnt want pretentiousness, exuberance and having to dress in tuxedos, cocktail dresses and and all that jazz.
We just wanted smart and simple, so our friends who cruise regularly said MSC would suit us.
It just happened to be that World ...
We boarded in Barcelona for a Transatlantic cruise to New York before continuing to Montreal. Although comfortable the ship is looking its age with a surprising amount of silicone apparent in the cabin, and once you see that your eye is of course drawn to other deficiencies, of which there are many.
To summarise: The good:
All the staff were happy, courteous and obliging. To name a few, our ...
As Virgin's French Days and Ibiza Nights was my first cruise ever, I can only compare it to other types of travel experiences, and I think it holds up pretty well. I went with my partner and had a very good time.
Things we enjoyed:
- our accessible midship balcony cabin was great...best shower ever!
- the hammock!
- our Test Kitchen dining experience was definitely memorable, in a ...
