I booked the cruise as to celebrate my son’s graduation. I wanted to spend quality time with him before he left for college and we had the time of our lives. The ship felt brand new. The room was splendid with wonderful linens on the beds, plenty of room to relax and an amazing bathroom. Our room attendants were very accommodating and a pleasure when we saw them. All of the staff we encountered ...
I enjoy Viking cruises because it includes the most stops. I specifically enjoyed the having a few days in Barcelona before beginning the cruise. I enjoyed every stop it's hard to pick one.One of my favorite stops was Sete (Montepiller) France. The port was unique because of all the flowers around the water ways. I also enjoyed the Van Gough excursion was very interesting. Our lunch at I ...
We chose the cruise because we enjoyed the river cruise we took in May of 2017.
We also wanted to compare the ocean cruise to Princess ocean cruises. We liked the smaller ship, loved the free laundry. The entertainment was good for a smaller ship.
Princess entertainment is extravagant in comparison, due to the fact that they have been around longer and are experienced in it. Their sets are ...
While many in our group had visited most of the ports previously, we all wanted to visit the scheduled ports. We greatly enjoyed out pre-cruise in Madrid. The change of itinerary, costing us a night in Barcelona, was disappointing, though Sète was lovely. The other ports were fantastic and the excursions, both included and optional, were well run and educational. We were a bit disappointed in the ...
I had heard that Viking Cruises provided a higher cultural experience than other lines. I find that to be true. The music, lectures, art on board all lend to a extraordinary experience. The spa and fitness center are excellent. There is no casino, water slides, blaring music or kids. The amenities included (WiFi, shore excursions, drinks at dinner) are well worth it.
The free shore ...
We chose Viking Ocean Cruises based on our experience with Viking River Cruises in 2015 and our desire to visit the western Mediterranean.
We ended up sailing the Orion on its maiden voyage.
The ship is absolutely wonderful. Viking has translated their river ship feel into small cruise ships. We really enjoyed the restaurants, public areas of the ship, stateroom, crew, cruise directors ...
It had the itinerary I was looking for. My wife always wanted to visit Rome and this cruise allowed for that.
The size of the ship and the number of passengers was a big plus. I have been on other cruises that had several thousand people on board and that was too crowded. The fact that the age was restricted to keep small children away. Not having to fight for a spot in the pools or hot ...
We chose Viking because we have always wanted to see Europe and this seemed to be an economical and exciting way to see several different countries. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend Viking and the Mediterranean cruise itinerary which included Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Greece, and Croatia . We were on the maiden cruise of the Orion and the ship was beautiful, the food ...
Had never been to most of the cities, had never cruised the Mediterranean or Adriatic. The brand new ship was marvelous in every way; great amenities, wonderful food, and friendly, helpful staff. Appreciated the changing menus, the locally sourced food items, and the variety of food offerings both in the main dining rooms and in the special restaurants. The on-board lectures and entertainment were ...
My husband and I wanted to visit the Mediterranean area and felt this cruise itinerary was a perfect way to get a taste of many countries. We enjoyed all of the ports and felt prepared for each day due to the great info provided in the shore talks. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive. The ship was beautiful and there were a wealth of activities for us. We enjoyed all of the musical ...
