Great Mediterranean Cruise
"The Viking Star has only been in service for less than a year. The ship is well designed with only 930 passengers. There are no inside cabins. We were in a junior suite on the 6th deck. The cabin was..."Read More

Having sailed on the River Yangtse with Viking we looked forward to experiencing an ocean cruise with them. The high standards of their river cruise was matched on this cruise from Barcelona to London. We have cruised on a number of other companies ocean cruises but this was head and shoulders above all. Staff were courteous and helpful without being intrusive. The ship belied the fact that ...

We'd travelled on Viking Sky on our honeymoon, and knew the exceptional level of service that Viking aim to deliver, so this was a much anticipated opportunity to relax. Cabins are all outside, all with balconies and furniture, so there was a wonderful sea view all the trip,. Cabin was really well cared for by the housekeeper for our section, right down to fresh ice delivered twice a day, ...

The service aboard the Viking Star was exceptional, and truly made our cruise experience very special. We want to pass along our sincere thanks to the excellent staff on the Viking Star. There were some special occasions for us during the cruise. My husband celebrated his 60th birthday, and we also celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. The staff went out of their way to remember these ...

My husband and I chose this cruise to celebrate our retirement with my sister and her husband. We happened to depart on my birthday, so Viking provided a bottle of champagne and cake in celebration. The first full day at sea was a day of exploration of this beautiful ship. From the Explorer’s Lounge with its beautiful view and lovely collection of model ships to the incredible spa with its Snow ...

We have previously traveled on Silverseas and Seabourne and are now Viking Converts. We enjoyed our trip so much that we have booked a trip later in the year in the same cabin. As both Seabourne and Silverseas have a smaller number of passengers, we were a bit worried that the ship would be crowded, however we were pleasantly surprised that this was, on the whole, not the case. With the ...

Chose this cruise in order to visit many of the famous sights around the Mediterranean we had long wanted to see. In this regard, the cruise met our every expectation, although we do wish we had added additional days before and after our cruise to better explore and enjoy both Barcelona and Venice. We think an additional day or two "at sea" (there was only one) would be great in order to improve ...

I had never traveled to Europe and wanted to visit as many countries as possible. Having heard many great things about Viking experiences I choose the Mediterranean Odyssey. It was a wonderful trip! The ship is beautiful, so clean and so easy to find my way around. Our cabin was so comfortable and spacious. The storage was great and it was so nice to unpack only one time for 2 week trip. ...

This was our first cruise with Viking and we already have another booked. Viking pays close attention to all of the details. Our cruise was 13 nights so we upgraded to a Veranda Penthouse. We would recommend this option. The stateroom was larger and there were “perks” such as being able to make dinner and spa reservations, book excursions, etc. before those in less expensive rooms. They also ...

Cruise was just the right pace for us. We extended 3 days in Madrid and Viking did a good job there. Hotel was very good and the transfers were handled well. We chose to do our own tours with local guides so I can’t comment on the Viking tours. The ship was great. The cabin was immaculate. The stewards provided excellent service. The crew was professional, friendly and went out of their way to ...

We have sailed a number of Viking river cruises but this was our first ocean cruise. Suffice it to say - we rebooked the same ship and the same stateroom for a 2021 Viking Homelands cruise. Loved the ship but went on so many land excursions that we didn't have enough time aboard to enjoy all the ship had to offer. Embarking and disembarking was easy and well organized for the excursions. ...
