Perfect First Cruise

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Viking Sky

A first time cruiser, the Viking Sky shattered all my expectations. The cabins were comfortable, the staff was incredible, the food was delicious, the common spaces were approachable and elegant, and the excursions were seamlessly organized. The port talks before each destination ensure that you are prepared, the flow of getting of the boat and on to transportation is flawless. There was a great ...

Many pluses, but a few negatives

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Sky

This cruise was our first on Viking, but we have been on at least 30 cruises on various lines. Embarkation was the best we have ever experienced. Our Penthouse Jr. Suite was very nice with more than ample room, comfortable furniture and an outstanding TV system with a great number of choices. There were two small negatives. The A/C system did not seem to respond well to the thermostat and we ...

I’ve been on the ship (Viking Sky) before and it is very nice so we decided on scheduling another cruise with Viking. I was looking for a birthday cruise. Viking provides great service and even a bottle of sparkling wine (Sekt) and a cake on your birthday. Plus all the great restaurants, shipboard amenities, very nice spacious cabins, and comfort while you cruise. Really enjoyed the aquivet ...

Great concept, poor execution

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Viking Sky

We booked back to back Mediterranean cruises, Dec 30 2018, and Jan 6 2019. We were attracted by the itinerary, and the wonderful reviews of Viking. The itinerary turned out to be misleading, and Viking appeared to suffer from institutional disorganization and generally poor food and service.. Ports - After paying in full soon after booking, which is a Viking requirement, we discovered that the ...

Loved the Norway Coast...missed the Northern Lights!

Went to see the Northern Lights and experience Norway where we had never visited. Due to weather we never saw the Northern Lights...The Norway Coast was spectacular and worth the experience. If I had to do the cruise over again I would like to go during the spring or summer - Norway is beautiful but hard to appreciate when it is cold and icy during the winter. That said, it was interesting ...

The ship, the Viking Star, along with the cabins and on board entertainment was exceptional. The cabin housekeeping crew responsible the our room, 5054, provided outstanding service. The dining was superb in all the restaurants, especially Manfredi's Italian restaurant. The service in the restaurants was excellent. A special thanks to Mr Halil Kayhan and his staff, especially Ravi. Leo and ...

If Viking Ocean were publicly traded I would buy stock. The ships are the perfect size, you never feel crowded. The most remarkable thing is really the crew. Viking has the happiest crew on the ocean and this makes all the difference in the way they interact with passengers. Our room stewards, Kari and Rosiel added a great deal to our overall enjoyment. They were extremely attentive to our ...

First Time on Viking

We have sailed on many cruise lines, but this was our first time on Viking. It was also our first time in the Mediterranean in winter. We have always heard the old adage that sailing the Med after October could be interesting. Luckily for us, the seas were calm and the weather was beautiful. Embarkation went very smoothly and may have been our best boarding experience ever. We arrived at ...

Amazing trip with Wonderful Staff!

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Viking Sky

We chose the Trade Route of the Middle Ages because of all the countries visited from Barcelona to the add-on of Iceland! It was a long trip and the staff on-board were all wonderful! The food on board was not as 'regional' as I would have liked but all else was great, including the trips in towns and the local guides. I especially enjoyed the spa on the 1st floor. From the pool to the ...
