Great trip with some buts.....

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Celebrity Apex

This was our first Transatlantic, second time on the Apex and over 10th time on Celebrity. The ship is beautiful, huge and was crowded all the time. In that regard, we were so happy that we booked a sky suite. The retreat was our haven on all sea days, and for pre dinner drinks, and afternoon snacks. But for those in a suite, your "butler" with a new title, is now a cabin attendant with a ...

THE FOOD: The food on this ship was, overall, the best I've seen in 30 years of cruising. Even the Oceanview (buffet) was great. Not every single item was to my liking, but there was always something delicious available to eat. We ate at Blue, Luminae, Eden and Raw on 5, and Oceanview, and every meal I had was ranked from good to great. The crab cake and beef wellington in Eden are the best ...

Enjoyable Transatlantic Cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Oosterdam

We chose this cruise because a Transatlantic cruise has been on our bucket list, we liked the itinerary, and we had two previous enjoyable cruises on HAL (one on Oosterdam and one on Zaandam). We have been fortunate that all three HAL cruises have been in a Neptune Suite, which is a special experience. This cruise didn't go as planned, because a large storm caused an itinerary change. We had ...

A great cruise, but one full of contrasts.

This was my 40th cruise, my partner’s 43rd, and our first with Virgin. I’m in my early 50’s, he’s in his early 60’s. It was a passage from Barcelona to Miami. Our first impression was not a good one. It took us 2.5 hours to get onboard from our arrival at the BCN terminal, the longest ever for us, and all of it because we were made to wait unnecessarily till our 14:00 slot time, even though ...

Wedding anniversary trip, seen so many places of interest, great way to see different cities, 6 ports of call, booked our own excursions, ship is wonderful and our balcony cabin was lovely, One gripe would be we encountered some rude people,at buffet who did not seem to notice others waiting in orderly fashion and just stepped in front of other passengers with no regard for manners. Lots of large ...

VIRGIN VOYAGE REVIEW The last cruise I took was a 14-day Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona to Istanbul in 1995 (23 years ago). Therefore, given the huge changes in the cruise industry with a new ship being built that will carry 10,000 passengers I would clearly classify myself as a newbie. Virgin Voyages is a relatively new cruise line started by Richard Branson. It currently has three ...

6th Transatlantic

This was our 6th transatlantic, the 1st on Celebrity with the others on RCCL. It was a more northerly crossing than we are use to so we expected it to be a little rougher and cooler. It met those expectations and more with it being generally cloudy on most sea days. Entertainment - with these T/A's the cruise lines typically brings in top notch performers and they (like the guests) are ...

SO LITTLE TIME

We boarded in Barcelona for a Transatlantic cruise to New York before continuing to Montreal. Although comfortable the ship is looking its age with a surprising amount of silicone apparent in the cabin, and once you see that your eye is of course drawn to other deficiencies, of which there are many. To summarise: The good: All the staff were happy, courteous and obliging. To name a few, our ...

Beautiful Ship, Crew Goes Above & Beyond

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Seascape

I’ve sailed on MSC before and enjoyed my cruise, so I thought I would travel again, especially on a transatlantic cruise and the rate was inexpensive on a per day basis. Embarkation: It was seamless, with no long lines or waiting to board. No worries if you didn’t bring luggage tags, as they had them. Early Disembarkation: Other than the pastries and drinks, it was a little disorganized ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Wonder of the Seas

We booked this ship because it was new, Oasis class and leaving from one of our favorite cities, Barcelona. The ship itself is beautiful, as only Royal Caribbean can do. It seems longer and wider than other Oasis Class ships like Symphony, Harmony , Oasis and Allure. Our crossing had 400+ passengers. Lots of Europeans, and a very small number of children. We also had over 250 Pinnicle status ...
