This was a repositioning cruise, so it had both a great number of ports, and a reasonable cost.
On the Pro side:
- Ports were Good. Arrecife and Tortola are a bit underwhelming, but otherwise, the ports were very nice. My favorites were Palma and Funchal.
- the ship was nice. Clean, lots of eating space.
- the balcony was great. The weather allowed us to really enjoy it.

My wife has taught Kindergarten for 39 years. She only had only item on her bucket -- to take repositioning cruise just to experience doing something that isn't in the high seasons: summer, Christmas, Easter.
Norwegian was the obvious choice -- it puts more effort into adding some interesting ports of call at one end of a transatlantic crossing, and the price was the most competitive. ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary over Thanksgiving day. Here are my pros and cons regarding Viking Ocean:
Pros
Great service with Concierge/Viking Services
Great service with Room Services
Friendly service from all crew
Good well organized excursions
Food is very good in 'Chefs Table'
Comfortable bed and spacious room.
Cons
Lacking entertainment for anyone ...
Itinerary was what we wanted to see with included excursions. Enjoyed the beverage inclusion. The tour guides were above average. We felt like we could relax when we wanted to and do activities when we wanted. The entertainment was fair and would have preferred a higher level of singers. The one thing we would have liked was access to a sports channel for those of us that follow college football ...
I choose this cruise because of its ports of call, despite my negative overall impression of NCL from a prior cruise (more later). This cruise confirmed my previous nehative impressions but I was more imrpessed with NCL's positives. I think senior NCL execs are making some very poor decisions.
My experieince is tempered by the fact I choose a Haven cabin. Haven gives cruises some nice perks, ...
This was my third time on the Epic and I still enjoy the ship, particularly the comfy chairs on the pool deck by the table tennis tables that don't seem to get discovered by anyone else until the end of the cruise!
We were beset with worse weather than normal and this meant that we had to skip Malta, but they turned it into a sea day and added Athens the next day instead. That was an impressive ...
We booked this crossing as we were headed back to the States after a long holiday in Europe and the departure and arrival ports fit our plans. This was our 35th cruise and our 5th time on Azamara.
The best part of the trip were the people we met on board. We had many fun evenings over drinks in the Living Room before dinner and dancing after dinner.
We booked a large suite and were very ...
We spent 3 days in Barcelona prior to the cruise. Highly recomend that if you are boarding a cruise in Barcelona that you spend a few days and enjoy this beautiful city.
Embarkation was a breeze only took about 20 minutes to go through security and board the ship. The Emerald princess has been remolded since the last time we were on it, it looks good with the updates. We had a cabin on deck 10 ...
We definitely enjoyed our cruise on the Emerald and we will be returning for the February cruise in the Pacific.
Several of the shore tours were outstanding. I’m especially referring to the tours on Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Ponta Delgada in the Azores. Since we have visited these islands on previous cruises we know there are several excellent tours from which to select. Cartagena and Malaga ...
