The itinerary was a huge draw for me. So many places I'd never been topped off by Iceland and mixed with lovely visits to old favorites.
Plus it was my first Viking cruise and a friend had raved about it.
My only other cruise experience had been the Caribbean with island and Mexico stops. Not really my cup of tea, large ships, lots of partying and the constant ding ding ding of the casino. ...
We took the Western Mediterranean Cruise on Epic, upon our friend's suggestion and it was great! 10 days are perfect for a cruise time and to see so many interesting towns! Great service on board provided by the staff. Next cruise we want to experience the Eastern Mediterranean one since we heard Croatia and Greece are worth stops.
The food was great at the Manhattan where we had dinner! Buffet ...
Overall, I would give the cruise about a 4.8. The things that bothered me didn't warrant much of a negative review, so I wouldn't knock the cruise down too much. As for the negative things - I signed up for the cruise about a year early and didn't realize Azamara was going through changes and a new website/computer system set up, etc, and I signed up for all of the excursions at the beginning ...
I was a little apprehensive after reading some less than flattering reviews of the infinity, but after nine days aboard we were more than happy with our cruise. Have things changed since Covid ? Yes, but nothing to us to substantially change our view. In the main dining room the list of appetizers is mostly salads now and the bread basket is a lot more limited than it used to be (used to be ...
We cruise 3 to 4 times a year on 8 or 9 different cruise lines. We often choose Wind Star for several reasons, mostly because the average passenger count is around 150 to 200 persons. No lines, off and on in ports in minutes rather than long lines, superb dining and all suite cabins with walk in closets and double sinks. The beauty of small ship sailing is visiting ports larger ships cannot, ...
I was apprehensive about so many sea days but I quickly fell into a relaxed mode and enjoyed the slow pace. Food was five stars every meal. Crew was above and beyond customer service! Plenty of places for solitude or activity with groups. Chef Gary did pop up lunches in the cafe several days and that was a treat. I’m never seen the head chef so engaging and he was delightful. The pool was tranquil ...
After using Azamara previously, we were delighted to sail with them again. The voyage covered Barcelona (where we boarded the ship); Marseille, Monaco, Livorno, Rome, Sorrento; Amalfi and Montenegro, Croatia and Slovenia ending up in 'Chioggia' (Venice) - a great selection of destinations. We had booked a Balcony Plus room right at the back of the ship and whereas the cabin was fine, it was a ...
We did a 119 night World Cruise, don't know why the menu here in CC says its only 50 nights. MSC delivers a lot of bang for your buck, though not everything was perfect. But the itinerary and the dining were awesome, although strangely the famous Kaito-sushi restaurant was closed during the whole trip. The staff was excellent, I wish shore hotels would have staff as nice and attentive. The ...
Background
We mostly cruise with Viking, Tauck, and with others, but three years ago we saw this itinerary and we couldn't wait - and then we waited three years. We are also introverts, so there are things Oceania offers that are simply not relevant to us - the bar scene, the entertainment, the casino, the sea day activities. We spend a little more for a larger room where we can happily hang ...
Just completed Barcelona to Abu Dhabi - 20 days on the refurbished Nautica.
The refurb is outstanding!
Better food in the Grand Dining Room. Portions are much better/lighter.
Speciality venues are excellent.
Butler was Superb!
Excursions were very good and the overnight in Luxor was outstanding.
I am baffled by the other reviews in that this was one of the best cruises we have ...
