Sailed out of Barcelona on The Vision recently for a 12 day Med Cruise. This was our first cruise and it was great. The locations were fantastic, but the day trips were expensive and long at times. They have you over a barrel with most of them as there is no other way to reach the tourist locations.
The Vision is 20yrs old and recently refurbished, it had some character to it and gave an ...
I chose to cruise in Europe to see the countryside and not have to go from hotel to hotel.
Because this was my first time abroad, the excursions were a great way to see the historical sights and not be on my own.
Cruises do have a lot of evening activities, although we didn't use very many because we spent every day on an excursion and my traveling companions were having health issues so ...
I really enjoyed my cruise to the mediterranean. However, I think the ship could add a little more diversity for different cultures. It seem like most of the entertainment was geared toward one particular ethnicity. Overall, the ship is beautiful and the dining experiences were wonderful. One waitress in particular, Simone in the Taste dining room was superb. I liked dining in there just to be ...
This was my first cruise with NCL. Overall the cruise for me was great except for the food. The food at the buffet was the the worse food I have ever had on a cruise and I have been on quite a few cruises. Everyday they had the same items (Italian/ Mediterranean). There was only one night they had Asian cruisine. Even in the included restaurants, the food wasn’t that great. I eat more off the ...
We chose this ship because we like Norwegian, and the itinerary was appealing because we could tack in onto a stay in Barcelona.
However, the EPIC is a big ship, with all of the problems that come with jamming so many people on one platform. There is almost no deck space for anyone who needs quiet space on any deck where there isn't live entertainment going on. Inside, most spaces are very ...
My parents were doing the trans-atlantic cruise and continuing on with the Western Med 7 day cruise from Barcelona. I decided to meet them in Barcelona and join them on the last leg of their cruise. I did the cruise pretty much as they like. We did crosswords and soduko each day, tours arranged through the cruise company and ate at the speciality restaurants almost every night.
I did ...
Fabulous itinerary. Booked the cruise because Rock of Gibraltar topped my husband's bucket list. Gib didn't disappoint with great homegrown guide Tommy of Inside-Our Rock Tours delivering the goods. My fave turned out to be Malta. Lounging on our balcony and cruising into port that morning at sunrise was akin to drifting into a dreamlike movie set. Unforgettable! Smooth, timely embarkation ...
The Bouquets...the ship, recently refurbished is beautiful with old style decor, wood panelling and some very grand public and dining areas. Our ocean view stateroom was comfortable, bright and more spacious than expected. Food was excellent, absolutely superb in Cagneys, Le Bistro and Teppanyaki. Service was excellent too, fast, efficient and delivered with lots of smiles. The shore ...
The Spirit is just the right size for us. Public areas, bars, pubs, dining venues, all were very tastefully decorated and inviting. The ship was comfortable and easy to navigate. Henry’s Pub was our favourite evening entertainment as Pablo was an excellent guitarist - he really nails Santana and Dire Straits! Elements finale show was excellent! The magicians and Jacka and Maria were highly ...
First the positives:
1. Excellent itinerary - the ports were amazing
2. Professional handling of crisis - we had a man jump overboard during the night, causing the cancellation of our Alicante port of call due to the search & rescue operation. The captain, crew and staff handled this very professionally. The security staff response throughout the remainder of the cruise was very ...
