Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas had a one-time trip from Barcelona to Rome beginning in early June 2009. We had a large family group on this cruise, made up of 6 adults, 3 children ages 12, 9, and 5, and a 14-month old daughter. We flew to Barcelona via Atlanta, and stayed two nights at the Gallery Hotel in Barcelona. We found this hotel neat and cozy, and preferred its quieter location ...
We met the ship in Barcelona after flying in from the UK with BA - flights booked with our trip. Next time we may book independently but we were late in booking holiday so thought easier this time. Flight was fully booked and seat allocation was poor. Nearly didn't get to sit together. After going left instead of right and ending up in the wrong terminal we eventually found our baggage reclaim ...
Overall, the cruise was great. The food was decent (dining room was much better than general areas), the staff was wonderful, the shows and trivia were entertaining. However, be careful when deciding where to spend your money for your ports. If you are able, I would highly recommend researching the local transportation systems and save yourself lots of money.Barcelona has a fantastic Metro. ...
"You'll be disappointed" warned my better half, eyes raised to heaven as I stayed on the internet night after night reading CC and every other internet site with the word "cruise" in the title. It isn't very often that she is wrong, so let's get the gloating over and done with. I wasn't!!!
Our travel agency had arranged early morning flights to BCN from Dublin (I know, CC Rule #1 broken ...
This is the second time we have sailed on the Navigator and once again it fulfilled all our expectations. We had made our own transfer arrangement from Barcelona airport to the Port, this is not difficult as there are numerous Taxis available. We had however pre-booked ours through Resorthopper. If we did it again I would just use airport Taxis as you have to confirm your return Taxi with ...
This was our second cruise on the Navigator; we took the cruise to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. The last cruise on the Navigator was 2 1/2 years ago and she has not aged one day. It is incredible to see how well maintained everything is. The ship was full (and more) and still everything was clean and well kept. The ship sailed from Barcelona, where we stayed for two days before and ...
This was the fifth cruise for us - forty something experienced travelers. We have always found cruising to be the best way to see a lot and yet not have to think all that much! After all - it IS vacation! We've sailed previously on Carnival (Bahamas, Eastern & Western Caribbean) and Norwegian (Alaska). Both of us have been to Europe before, as well, but this was the first time for Italy, Spain and ...
My girlfriend and I, both in our early 20's and recent university graduates, took a fantastic Mediterranean cruise on Royal Caribbean's beautiful Navigator of the Seas on May 19, 2008. We sailed out of Barcelona and visited Cannes, Florence and Rome.
We started planning our European trip back in December 2007. My girlfriend had certain desires for the trip, as did I. She wanted to visit a few ...
Day 1 Got an early flight to Barcelona .We took Barcelona-airport-tranfers to port Moll D'Adossat. Excellent and efficient service, I would highly recommend them. As expected the check in process at the terminal was slow but tolerable. Once checked in we headed to the Windjammer for lunch. Such a welcoming crews. Especially one in Windjammer :)
Day 2 Our first port of call was Marseilles,France. ...
We have travelled on P&O (11 cruises), Princess (2), Celebrity(2) but this was our first on Royal Caribbean. This was also, by a fair margin, the largest ship we had been on.
Overall, I found this trip disappointing - not bad, but a long way short of what I expected. I had naively believed that as long as the prices were roughly comparable, the overall quality would be the same, although clearly ...
