Old ship and uninterested crew

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

This cruise had good reviews but now I realize the reviews are from Royal Caribbean lifers. FYI if you have kids the ship attracts a majority of older people. There was only 1 main dining room aside from the buffet. I felt pressured to pay extra to eat at the specialty dining rooms because the salespeople were always standing at the entrance to the buffet. Cleaning was poor, I found false ...

As I much prefer the smaller ships, this was a perfect fit. The Brilliance is in good shape overall. We were in a Grand Suite. Our room was clean and in wonderful condition. Our cabin steward, Luis, was attentive to all and any of our needs. The concierge, Amit, was very helpful in all facets especially with getting off the ship quickly at the ports of call and disembarkation. As for the food. ...

SO SO DISAPPOINTED - Brilliance of the Seas - low-cost rip-off cruise.

If you want to pay a lot for a low-cost rip-off cruise in a dated ship and very few activities - this is the ship for you. Six 1 liter bottles of water for 39 USD?? come on. We were on a family vacation (4 families with young kids) and booked a cruise via an agent (who was supposed to help find the right ship) on a home for the elderly cruise with cheap food, very little activities and dated ...

We choose this cruise because the dates coincided with when we needed to be in florence for a wedding. The cruise ended on a sunday and the wedding was the following Wednesday so it was an easy way to kill 2 birds with one stone. We felt it would be a Cliff note version of Italy with the cruise and then go to Florence for the wedding and more time to explore the Tuscan region. The service on ...

Great crew. But Royal Caribbean a huge disappointment

We chose this cruise for the fantastic choice of ports. Mostly we booked our own excursions as we find Royal insanely overpriced. We did do the Rome excursion through royal, but it Wasn't a great experience for the cost. Excursions booked independently we're much more enjoyable and better planned. We found very little entertainment options of interest. At sea days were very disappointing. All ...

We were part of a 75-person group from our church, and everything went smoothly. We were booked on different flights, excursions, etc., and RCI did a great job handling this. Our ports of call and excursions were: Barcelona, Cannes (Monaco and Monte Carlo), La Spezia (Cinque Terre), Civitavecchia (Rome and the Vatican), Piraeus (Acropolis and New Acropolis Museum), Mykonos (on our own), ...

Excellent Itinerary, fabulous staff, failing food offer

We like to take an Autumn holiday to get an extra bitof summer and this proved perfect. Brilliance continues to be an excellently fitted out ship. Great cabin (9230) and steward. Far better and well maintained public areas than on many more recent ships. Plenty to keep us occupied day and night with activities. Not one member of staff nor officer or crew was other than helpful and ...

Disappointed with the food

This was our 3rd Royal Caribbean cruise. The ship was nice, the service was great, the ports were great, the excursions were good, we were just disappointed with the food. We ate in the dining room the first 2 nights. The first night the pasta dish tasted like something that would be served in my grandmother's assisted living center. The second night no better and served lukewarm. So we ate ...

Great Staff great itinerary

Chose this cruise ship and line for the itinerary. We wanted to see Malta and this ship had the itinerary of other places we wanted to go. The stateroom with balcony was large enough, yet could have used more closet space. Shower left water on the floor no matter what we tried. The TV was a joke: selling RC services and repeated network shows on the few channels available for the entire cruise. ...

Was so looking forward to cruising with royal again, so disappointed with the staff! From top to bottom of the employee release, on board as well as corporate. All issues fell on deaf ears!!! What a disappointment. Was treat always like the customer was at fault and needed to prove our case. The mold in the hallway and public places were outrageous. The whole staff looked and acted like "if we ...
