Great cruise but with some hiccups
"Etna with lunch - guide spent a bit too much time in Catania, but it was still a good tour), Kavala and Phillippi (the ruins in Phillippi are amazing and the tour guide was an archaeologist so we got some great information), Istanbul (OE Best of Istanbul, two mosques and scrumptious lunch - tour guide spoke perfect English. The restaurant staff in Toscana and main dining room were also excellent, but for some reason the staff at Terrace Cafe and Polo Grill didn't seem "happy to be there...."Read More

DO NOT BOOK AN OCEANA CRUISE

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Nautica

In May 2022, my husband and I along with 4 others in our group, put deposits down on what I thought would be a cruise of a lifetime. So I thought. Barcelona to Dubai with visits to Israel and Egypt was what sold us. Fast-forward to 2023 and this cruise itinerary was basically scrapped including Israel, Egypt, Jordan & Oman (and rightfully so because of the war.) However, Oceana replaced these ...

Beware Oceania. Middle East cruise that was drastically changed. Disappointing, expensive waste of time and money.

Nautica is a beautiful little ship. The crew were wonderful. Unfortunately this didn’t make up for a number of other issues relating to this supposedly upmarket company. 1. The itinerary change was so drastic it didn’t resemble what we booked in any way. Other ships still visited Egypt, Oman and Salalah and these ports were cancelled on our trip. The day we were meant to visit Athens was windy ...

Definitely not the Oceania we remembered

Written while still on board. We chose this cruise largely because of the port visit in Morocco. A week before sailing they canceled that port for security reasons and substituted Cadiz. Then after embarkation they did another schedule change, which put us in Santa Cruz, Canary Islands on a Sunday. Unfortunately, this being our longest port visit, from 7 am to 11 pm, there was nothing to do since ...

Forced to accept massive itinerary changes

Our 32-day cruise included many planned ports impacted by the war. The result, after our last Mediterranean port, we had ten consecutive sea days on the way to Dubai. The cause of the changes was understandable. That would could not cancel was not understandable. The ticket contract holds with port changes, understandable for operational and weather issues. But massive changes should release ...

Enjoyed Oceania, as we always do

Although we were used to sailing on the Riviera and the Marina, we went on the Nautica last August because we liked the itinerary. Nautica is quite a bit smaller than the other two ships which initially took some getting used to. With that said, everything else was the same but on a smaller scale. The crew was great, the food great in the specialty restaurants & very good in the Terrace Cafe, ...

Great cruise but with some hiccups

Just got home after cruising on Nautica from Barcelona to Istanbul. It was a great trip and most of our experiences with Nautica were positive. We had a great Oceania excursions (with one exception) but the staff in charge of disembarking at ports (especially when we tendered) were disorganized and sometimes seemed clueless regarding the process. Excursions: Menorca (Ciudadella City ...

Good cruise but was it good value for the money?

This cruise had been a long time coming. We had a HAL Alaska cruise cancelled on us at the beginning of the pandemic. That would have been a 70th birthday present to myself. And, last summer, we got Covid a couple of days before an Oceania cruise we’d booked as a present to ourselves for our golden wedding. Then more general health issues intervened, meaning we couldn’t get travel insurance – so ...

Fascinating Barcelona to Abu Dhabi Itinerary

Background We mostly cruise with Viking, Tauck, and with others, but three years ago we saw this itinerary and we couldn't wait - and then we waited three years. We are also introverts, so there are things Oceania offers that are simply not relevant to us - the bar scene, the entertainment, the casino, the sea day activities. We spend a little more for a larger room where we can happily hang ...

Outstanding experience on refurbished NAUTICA

Just completed Barcelona to Abu Dhabi - 20 days on the refurbished Nautica. The refurb is outstanding! Better food in the Grand Dining Room. Portions are much better/lighter. Speciality venues are excellent. Butler was Superb! Excursions were very good and the overnight in Luxor was outstanding. I am baffled by the other reviews in that this was one of the best cruises we have ...

This was our second Oceania. But we have done a few other cruises over the years. The newly refurbished Nautica was very beautiful. Couldn't get a suite so we were on 7th floor with Balcony. Small room- Impossibly small shower and we're small people. Rarely got hot water. But the room Steward was outstanding! The food in all the places- specialty as well as Main Diningroom just VERY average! ...
