Although we were used to sailing on the Riviera and the Marina, we went on the Nautica last August because we liked the itinerary.
Nautica is quite a bit smaller than the other two ships which initially took some getting used to. With that said, everything else was the same but on a smaller scale. The crew was great, the food great in the specialty restaurants & very good in the Terrace Cafe, ...
Just completed Barcelona to Abu Dhabi - 20 days on the refurbished Nautica.
The refurb is outstanding!
Better food in the Grand Dining Room. Portions are much better/lighter.
Speciality venues are excellent.
Butler was Superb!
Excursions were very good and the overnight in Luxor was outstanding.
I am baffled by the other reviews in that this was one of the best cruises we have ...
Background
We mostly cruise with Viking, Tauck, and with others, but three years ago we saw this itinerary and we couldn't wait - and then we waited three years. We are also introverts, so there are things Oceania offers that are simply not relevant to us - the bar scene, the entertainment, the casino, the sea day activities. We spend a little more for a larger room where we can happily hang ...
We chose this cruise for the "island hopper" itinerary with many new-to-us ports (Minorca, St. Tropez, Corsica, Sardinia, Malta etc). It was definitely H-O-T in August 2022! We enjoyed the cruise very much. We did miss our stop in Toulon due to weather (a fierce storm that resulted in some local deaths from flash flooding).
We did not use any ship's excursions (one we thought we were ...
We chose this cruise for the itinerary (wanted to visit Florence, Rome, Pompeii, and Venice) and time of year (not summer busy season). Oceania turned out to be a great choice.
The ship is smaller than most. We never waited long for an elevator and could easily find seating at the pool or in the dining rooms, even though we were told it was fully booked. We enjoyed the 24-hour coffee service ...
I have to laugh when I see other reviews of cruises. This is NOT your typical gargantuan ship with entertainment to please everyone. It is a "small ship" experience. The restrooms are tight and it's not trying to be opulent. We selected the upgrade to the concierge level veranda rooms and got a great cabin near the back...most of the remaining doors in the hallway went to much larger suites. ...
My wife and I sailed on Nautica from Barcelona to Dubai October / November 2017
This was our 3rd time with Oceania, having already sailed on Riviera and Marina. This was our first time on one of Oceania’s smaller ships but we knew what to expect in terms of size and layout as we had previously sailed with Azamara on Quest, which also being one of the original Renaissance ships, is the same ...
We have just returned from a wonderful cruise from Barcelona to Dubai, visiting Malta, Rhodes, Cyprus, Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and Oman over 21 days. This was our 10th Oceania cruise although we have cruised on other lines as well and it included an itinerary that was hard to beat. Sure some days were long but it also included plenty of recuperative sea days.
Nautica had clearly just experienced ...
Let me start off by saying WOW!!
I have sailed on other cruise lines to more local destinations in South Africa so it wasn't my first time @ the rodeo BUT my experience on the Oceania Nautica was nothing short of mind blowing!!
Embarkation and dis-embarkation were easy breezy, previous experiences on other cruises led me to dread these two activities and in fact I had nothing to worry ...
We just returned from our fourth Oceania cruise, this one aboard Nautica, which was also our first "O" ship back in 2008. Things are only getting better.
The ship, built in 2000 and refurbished in 2010, is due to go into dry dock next spring for major refurbishment to bring her to the more contemporary theme from the nearly-new Marina and Riviera, but she has been immaculately maintained and is ...
