Great experience with some issues

We organised this cruise as a relaxing week in the sun for me and my wife, visiting a couple of new ports (for us) and a few old favourites. The pre-planning by Scotland's Cruise Centre was top notch. We flew from Edinburgh to Barcelona and jumped in a taxi to the port (39 Euros) without a hitch. The process of welcoming us on board was flawless and our luggage arrived at our stateroom within half ...

Showing its age - NCL Epic

This was cancelled twice due to covid so we were excited to finally go. Second cruise on Epic, so we knew what to expect. Embarkation smooth and trouble free, food was wonderful, staff attentive and brilliant. Masks were not enforced, only when docked at Italian ports, which we fully expected. But Ship is starting to show its age a bit. Discoloured tiling and stains on pool, worn benches ...

Myself 27 (vegetarian) and partner 31( who if heard of hearing) went on the Epic from Barcelona and did the Mediterranean. We booked for a inside cabin on full board. Room- From day 1 we had a problem, we had booked a double bed but found our self with two singles, so we went to reception to inform them. The line was massive and we weighted for 45min, and nothing was done as when we came to the ...

An excellent ship and beautiful scenes for an intense week of exploring

This was my second time on the Epic and third cruise with Norwegian. Cruising is 99% back to normal, with very few COVID restrictions remaining (this took me by surprise). According to the GM at the Q&A session on May 21, we had 3000 passengers and 1500 crew onboard (about 80% capacity). He said they can’t go any higher with the current restrictions, but I am not sure what restrictions are left, ...

NCL CASH EXTRACTION

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

Never been with NCL before and probably won't cruise with them again. Everything they do board is about cash extraction. They charge a fee for for buying from their shops, for the pleasure of serving you. Gambling is the main feature on the ship, lots and lots of tables. Although we had a drinks package, bottled water was not included, for a litre of water $6.00 + 20% SC. There was no ...

Great family time

We are a Dutch family of 4 and this was our first cruise ever. For us, this holiday exceeded our expectations. First, of all, there is plenty to do for the whole family. Due to covid, we were informed that the "kids" club was still closed, but we and other passengers were lucky to have the possibility to leave them between 19.00 and 22.00 so mom and dad could have some romantic diner time. ...

Oh I do love a queue

Seemed good value at time and I hadn't cruised with Norwegian before. No queues etc at gatwick - brill! Smooth on time flight - brill! arrived Barcelona immigration arrivals - packed to bursting point with thousands of passengers - some from the USA - and no perceivable queue movement. Hot, stuffy, no toilets or water. After realisation that more staff an better organisation required some more ...

Turkish mystery

Some important bullet points: --The COVID tests on board were clearly not performed professionally or with the intent to garner accurate results. The very edge of my nostrils were swabbed for split seconds all four times I was tested aboard. NCL hires a company called Eurofins, and its job is clearly to ensure that COVID cases aren't reported, or at least not at particularly revenue-sensitive ...

First cruise and this ship/crew exceeded all expectations

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

This was my first cruise I've ever taken and I was blown away. This cruise exceeded all of my expectations. I was really nervous about being on a ship for 11 days for fear of seasickness and it was never a problem. One of the days we couldn't go into port because there were 50 mph winds and the boat rocked a little but I never actually got sick. The ship itself is massive and even after 11 days ...
