The Epic has seen better days.
"We had torrential rain and cruisers were expected to exit in one location with all their luggage on a slippery gangway while the ship was rocking in pouring rain and high winds.Thank God we were off the ship in a port everyday and the 2 day in port days were the best!..."Read More

Do not cruise with Norwegian

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

We have cruised about 5 times before and enjoyed it a lot. We picked this cruise because of the itinerary which was great. Everything else was terrible, ship is old, tired and a horrible design, unless you want to go to the casino. The food was ok, the entertainment was almost none existent. The game shows we did attend were extremely old fashioned and sexist. The tendering was so unbelievable ...

We selected this cruise for the itinerary and sailing date. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary and we are a very active early 60 year old couple. I upgraded to an upper class balcony cabin, it's located just ahead of the rear stairwell. I mention this because in this ship that's the worst location we could have gotten. The main issue is the constant vibration while the ship is under ...

Norwegian get it together!

Well first off, I'm not a complainer. I have enjoyed every cruise good and bad but feel I needed to write a review on this one. Our first mistake was letting them book our flight. Came from the US and flew on Luftansa. After flight delays, re-routes, #2 missed connections because of them, stress, rude people, (Frankfurt, Germany- THE WORST!!) we finally got to Barcelona Spain 9 hours late. ...

I am now platinum latitudes on NCL and this was our second and probably our last time sailing on the Epic. While the itinerary was good the ship is showing it's age. We always get a great size balcony quiet aft location. Bathroom needs to be remodeled. Had to ask for the in room coffee maker as they removed them. Best restaurants Moderno and le Bistro and the noodle bar. We usually order the ...

Not a great ship

Norwegian Epic from august 17-28 Mediterranean cruise Negatives: I’ve been on many cruises before and I wouldn’t recommend this boat Sales person advised wifi was unlimited with our package. They only give you 150 minutes the whole time. You have to login, and we tested it by forgetting the network, we lost 30 min. The guy in library said maybe they were doing an update. They ...

Trip of a Lifetime

For starters, this was my 15th cruise overall and fifth with NCL. This trip was three years in the making. We had to cancel our original 7-night cruise out of Venice due to COVID. We chose this itinerary because of the great ports. 11 nights Barcelona to Rome with stops in Cannes, France, Livorno (Florence/Pisa), Naples, Messina, Sicily, Kotor, Montenegro and Greece (Corfu, Santorini, Athens and ...

Perfect balance of cruise length and destinations

Our first cruise post-covid and most definitely worth the wait! We were originally a little concerned at the size of the Epic, as we were used to the smaller South Pacific sized ships, but we never felt overwhelmed by the numbers and I believe that the cruise was at around 80% capacity. The Epic is well laid out for eating with the majority of the table restaurants at the rear and the buffet ...

Cabin was as expected. Steward very nice and considerate. Room service prompt, food good delivery cost of $8 for 24 hr. Service was reasonable. Did not want to spend a great amount of money as i am recently widowed and was trying to watch my costs. I have so much more i could say like i was abandoned in rome, had to pay taxi 200euros to drive me to the port as fast as possible (he made a 2 hr ...

12 Day Mediterranean cruise on the Epic, Barcelona RT. My main criticism of this cruise was the Epic as a cruise ship. Having a friend who sailed on the Epic's maiden voyage and she giving it a less than sterling review I can now understand why. This ship would be ideal for children, teens, and adults who enjoy all the water features on this ship except all that ...

Ship too big with two many people

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Norwegian Epic

We sailed the Epic for the first time. It was our third Norwegian cruise. We had sailed the Escape in 2018 and this is also a big ship, but I don't think it was at full capacity. The Epic had 4,100 people on board. The elevators were always crowded. It was difficult to find a seat in the Garden Cafe for breakfast or lunch. Our balcony stateroom was too narrow with only room for one person to ...
