Good cruise but was it good value for the money?
"Now, I accept that we knew several of the ports well so, even if we looked to do an excursion there, it was going to be a bit limited One of our three was particularly disappointing. My only other comment is that, on the second visit to Polo, dessert took so long that we gave up on it – never walked out of one of my local places...."Read More

Great cruise but with some hiccups

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Nautica

Just got home after cruising on Nautica from Barcelona to Istanbul. It was a great trip and most of our experiences with Nautica were positive. We had a great Oceania excursions (with one exception) but the staff in charge of disembarking at ports (especially when we tendered) were disorganized and sometimes seemed clueless regarding the process. Excursions: Menorca (Ciudadella City ...

Good cruise but was it good value for the money?

This cruise had been a long time coming. We had a HAL Alaska cruise cancelled on us at the beginning of the pandemic. That would have been a 70th birthday present to myself. And, last summer, we got Covid a couple of days before an Oceania cruise we’d booked as a present to ourselves for our golden wedding. Then more general health issues intervened, meaning we couldn’t get travel insurance – so ...

Very small balcony hut, very good service, quiet ship.

Friends recommended oceania cruises because of the good food. The food was good, but compared to the other cruiselines where we booked balcony huts in Europe since 2010, this was by far the worst in size, also the bathroom was far too small. The service was very good and the ship is very quiet compared to MSC, Norwegian, Costa. The food was good, but not exceptional. Dinner in the Polo ...

We chose this cruise for its itinerary to sail around the coast of Spain. We wanted to try a smaller ship, as we had sailed on all big ships in the past (1900+, and mostly 3000+). I guess you would consider Oceania a hybrid luxury line, with many amenities of a luxury line, but not all inclusive. The small ship experience is a mixed bag. Obviously it is easier to get around, has a more ...

Oceania needs some improvement

We traveled on Oceania in its inaugural year and it was fabulous.  In many ways, it is still a notch above other lines but it also is less than what it was.  The food is decidedly less varied, with cheaper selections.  There are no fresh pancakes or waffles in the morning and precooked items could break windows.  Lunch was fine but the dining room dinners were boring and somewhat repetitive with ...

I will try to be as complete, candid and unbiased as possible.  I will not tell you everything is perfect or that everything is terrible. All cruises have good points and bad points. Hopefully, the good far outweighs the bad.Pre-cruise, Barcelona: We arrived after a relatively simple two flight legsLAX to Heathrow, Heathrow to Barcelona around 7:45 pm and took the VERY EASY "Aerobus" from the ...

Not so notable Nautica

Others have posted comments about this Nautica cruise, which sailed on 27 June from Barcelona, and I am not in total agreement with these comments, however everyone has their own views. My husband and I dined one night with one of the other reviewers. Nautica was well-maintained and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. When you asked how they were, the reply 'excellent' did get a ...
