VcI just love cruising especially the longer cruises. This is our 20 th cruise and it is one of the best company which have a lot of cruises we love because we love going to different countries and also all of the other MSC SHIPS are fabulous but this was not good for us this time, There ships are just fantastic but they made a big mistake with the cabins in this ship and they need to get this fixed by moving the beds to the other side of the room. Service was okay but to many problems as they didn't have enough staff on board for the amount of people so things were getting quiet heated over lost property and bags not showing up at rooms on embarking. We will still cruise with MSC Because they do thetowns we would never see . The food is fabulous and the speciality restaurants are top class with deli our selection to choose between. Read Less

Having sailed with MSC before, my wife and I thought a cruise on the new MSC Seaside would be great. How wrong we were. This was our 14th cruise with various cruise lines so we know what to expect on a cruise. This ship was not ready to sail anywhere. The toilets overflowed or did not flush; also taps in the restrooms were not always working. Some of the staircases were taped off, one of the sports bar door frames was held in place by sticky tape one day to stop it falling down, our cabin 12198 had no power for 5 and a half hours on day 3 until after two calls to reception and a personal visit a fuse was changed outside our cabin, (which took one minute). We were told by other passengers of wardrobe doors falling off and compensation being paid. The Bridge of Sighs glass walkway glass was cracked and had to be replaced. Workmen with their little tool trolleys were all over the ship doing repairs. I could go on but you get the idea. The ship itself is poorly designed, the theatre is too small, and so instead of two 40/45 min shows there are three 25/30 min shows, a pity because the shows were very good. Same issue in the main dining rooms there has to be three sittings 5.30/7.45/9.15. Pool deck 16 not enough space, sunbeds crammed in too close together. The main lounge for entertainment, called Haven Lounge too small with very heavy seats which were very hard to move, (even by the waiters). The Atrium (decks 5, 6, 7, 8) virtually no tables or chairs to sit and listen to the entertainment. 5,000 + passengers in my opinion is too many. Disembarking in Miami took far too long. After three hours we could no longer wait for our colour to be called and just joined the queue and left the ship. (There were hundreds more still waiting). In our opinion a very disappointing cruise. Poor food, service and poor entertainment in the bars and not enough draw space in the cabin for a two week cruise. On top of that questionable hygiene, many of the passenger were coughing, in fact we both came home with a sore throat, cough and eye infections. We are not complainers; in fact this is the first time we have had to give a negative opinion about a cruise. One positive, the beds and bedding were great. Read Less

I had the opportunity to sail on the Seaside on her crossing over, and by and large I was quite impressed. The balcony staterooms felt roomy, although storage was a bit of an issue. The shows on board were very good, and I really enjoyed the specialty dining on board. Loved that most of the restaurants were in one area of the ship with a shared bar, it felt very deluxe - although the bar service there needed some work. Service was very good in Butcher's Cut, and really enjoyed the Sushi menu in the Asian Market Kitchen. Loved the French bistro in the atrium as well. The cheese board was awesome, and served from the tray tableside which was a nice plus. Buffets and dining room were average, but passable for me. Downsides for me included the fact that there seemed to be a lot more extras this time around. The bar in the bistro didn't offer any drinks that matched with my beverage package, even though the prices did. Although I managed to take a tour of the spa, I thought dayspa pricing was a little high at $60 per person. I enjoyed the gym, and took the yoga class which was good - although I would have preferred a more traditional yoga class. I've sailed the Divina before and this is a big leap forward, and I would definitely sail again, especially once the ship has had more runs in the caribbean and the crew gets its sea legs. Read Less

There are growing pains -and then there is bone-deep hell. This was our first MSC cruise and probably our last. In all of our cruising, we have never seen a cruise ship filled with so many pi**ed off customers. I'll list the pros and cons for easy reading: Cons: 1) Long elevator waits/multiple elevators consistently not working 2) Lack of ship hygiene and access to hand sanitization (if you did find dispensers, they were empty) -people were very sick. DIshes were always dirty. I'd have to go through 5 plates before finding a clean one and forget about a clean coffee cup. 3) We had the self-serve soda and beer beverage package but had a very difficult time using it (long waits for any drinks when we were forced into the small buffet). 4) The main dining room would not accomidate a handicapped person even though there were plenty of tables open and free (would not switch seating time, seat location, or offer available seats during main seating). Literally, we couldn't eat at the dining room, during dinner. 5) The dining room during breakfast and lunch had atrocious service and food. We only used it 2x during the whole cruise. Orders were incorrect, missing items, flavorless, cold and undercooked food. Multiple requests to correct issues were ignored. It also took 2 hours to get through the meal which was a waste of time for bad food/service. 6) A quarter of the way through a 15 night cruise, they shut down the main buffet to try and get people to go back to the dining room. People were choosing the buffet instead of dining rooms bc of the food and server issues. A large number of passengers were crammed into the family buffet (Biscayne-1/3 the size of the main buffet) which was half regular food and half kids food. 7) Beverage dispensers didn't work and no one would fix them. You literally couldn't get a glass of water at the buffet -this went on for days. 8) Lack of customer service at the excursion desk. Employees didn't know the excursions and the excursion experiences were very overpriced and poor. 9) There was nothing to do during the day. Other transatlantics offered a variety of entertainments and activities -there were very few offered on this ship. 10) Although they ignored it and hoped we didn't notice, they skipped one of the planned stops. No explanation was given. 11) Getting back on the ship at ports was very slow 12) Getting off the ship at the custom's stop was EXTREMELY unorganized and not handicap-friendly. Staff were harried and some very rude. We missed a good part of our excursion. 13) The company doesn't care if you're cheated out of expensive excursion time, even when it is their fault. This also happened at one other stop. 14) Sometimes the food in the buffet was good, othertimes it was awful. Some nights the best offering was chicken nuggets from the kiddie buffet. The main breakfast buffet was consistently either out of food, or the pans had obviously been siting out way too long. 15) Poor climate control. This ship was very humid when we moved into the carribean. Pros: 1) They matched another cruise line's loyalty program level and as such, we recieved several perks, which shows they take care of their higher loyalty customers 2) Our room attendant, loyalty ambassador, and customer service attendants were great 3) The room was nice. The bed was firm and they had a variety of pillows for choosing comfort. 4) They offered a rotating selection of free movies in your cabin during the long stretches at sea. 5) Disembarking and embarking was fast and easy. 6) Water park, water slides, and zip line were great. Although expect long waits on the zip line. Read Less

A brand new MSC ship straight out of Monfalcone shipyard - the same shipyard that buiilds Carnival and most other modern cruise line ships. Finally a cruise ship with an truly innovative design. The external areas are amazing, there's nothing like that on any other ship, period. Huge sundecks, much wider than usual, an amazing acquapark, longest ever zipline at sea, and my very favorite spot on this ship - an aft lower deck pool with 2 shaded areas and 2 bars. I relaxed there for most of the time and did some office email when I absolutely had to - working there looking at the ocean felt *slighlty* better than in my office :-). Not to mention the buffet restaurant, where else on a modern cruise ship you can have lunch outside on deck 8, some 50 feet from the sea ? My cabin was also good, obviously with all modern gadgetry like UBS ports etc and slightly larger than similarly priced cabins on otehr ships. The staff was experienced and friendly but they had to learn about working on the ship so occasionally service was slower than what I had wished - but they did improve visibly during my time on the ship. Looking forward to cruise ahain on her ! Read Less
