We live in Spain and prefer to cruise from Barcelona. We had a thoroughly enjoyable cruise, despite the 3 hour embarkation process caused by the COVID 19 testing requirements. This was our first time with MSC, and having read lots of negative reviews about the dining experience, we were a little concerned about what to expect. We can now report that we could not fault the food. We mostly dined ...
Got on in Barcelona it was raining embarkation was pretty easy room was great had a balcony we were on level 12 right in the middle we didn't know what to expect as first timers but we had a great time met some really nice people we took the drinks package through our booking agents and it paid off as drinks averaged 5/6 euros each food was good shows were fine and weather was great ship was huge ...
We chose this cruise as there wasn't a lot of choice for the time of year. We have visited most of the ports before, so the main purpose of this trip was to chill out. We are seasoned cruisers and have used most of the main cruse lines, including 2 previously with MSC and have had all sorts of experiences with them from dreadful to pleasantly surprising, so we didn't have any great expectations. ...
Many MSC fans will take issue with my review, but I write it to help cruisers who have traveled with other lines - for you, I believe you will rate your experience on this MSC ship as only average. But let me say some good things first- have seen claim that food in dining room was not hot- in our case, not true. The other claim- staff not friendly, also not on our cruise. So let's discuss food - ...
Selected this cruise as a late break when very little choices were available at the time. Initially we were very impressed with the speed of embarkation at Barcelona, but this was quickly dispelled by having to wait around for some time for access to our cabin due to cleaning/preparation work to be carried out.
The ships appearance was good and seemed clean, modern and well organised, our first ...
This was a cruise with friends and I really enjoyed myself. The cabin was roomy and clean. All the staff were great and helpful. It caters more to Italians than North Americas and British Ship left and arrived at all ports on time. Didn't pay for any excursions as it was simple to do it yourself.
Genova, bus outside 10 euros were tour and hop on and off.
Rome bus to train station 2 ...
We had never cruised with MSC and choose this one for price and a wedding anniversary but we were very disappointed. Embarkation went smoothly and we were allowed on the ship early due to the weather in Barcelona. The cabin was a decent size on deck 10 with a balcony. Clean and spacious, mini bar if you can afford it. TV to high to watch without getting neck ache. Linen was never changed during 7 ...
Great value for the dollar with an interesting itinerary. Prior to departure we were given a complimentary upgrade to the exclusive yacht club. Upon arrival at the port in Barcelona, we were seated and offered champagne. After about a 15 minute wait, we were escorted to the yacht club check-in area and then led on the ship by our butler. We were greeted in the concierge area of the yacht club ...
After reading reviews before we left I was unsure what to expect as some were very negative about the food, entertainment and the overall experience. We travelled as a family in January 2017 and found the following:
The ship was exceptionally clean.
Yes sometimes some food could have been warmer but overall the food was delicious, the right temperature and well presented.
The staff are ...
Pre-trip - we had to ask for the itinerary about a week before we left and then received it in Spanish. When I asked for an English copy I was told there wasn't one yet a German lady on the coach had an English copy.
The coach journey (from hell) - 10 hours cooped up listening to non-stop female German speakers; then 10 hours on the return - we should have been warned!
Barcelona hotel and ...
