We live in Spain and prefer to cruise from Barcelona. We had a thoroughly enjoyable cruise, despite the 3 hour embarkation process caused by the COVID 19 testing requirements. This was our first time with MSC, and having read lots of negative reviews about the dining experience, we were a little concerned about what to expect. We can now report that we could not fault the food. We mostly dined ...

Fantastic ship and crew

This was a cruise with friends and I really enjoyed myself. The cabin was roomy and clean. All the staff were great and helpful. It caters more to Italians than North Americas and British Ship left and arrived at all ports on time. Didn't pay for any excursions as it was simple to do it yourself. Genova, bus outside 10 euros were tour and hop on and off. Rome bus to train station 2 ...

After reading reviews before we left I was unsure what to expect as some were very negative about the food, entertainment and the overall experience. We travelled as a family in January 2017 and found the following: The ship was exceptionally clean. Yes sometimes some food could have been warmer but overall the food was delicious, the right temperature and well presented. The staff are ...

First cruise, and a fantastic experience

This was our first cruise and we were certainly not disappointed. The ship was fantastic and all the staff were always smiling. Food was very good, all though I was surprised that they could not make a real caparchio. We had a balcony cabin. Lots of space, real nice bed and I loved the balcony. Bars and restaurants are luxurious and the staff were fast to take orders and serve. ...

We miss the Splendida! We had a great cruise, leaving from Barcelona on Dec 2nd and returning to the same on Dec. 9th. The ship is immaculate, well-maintained, and has very nice, spacious gathering areas. We were staying in the Yacht Club, which really defined our experience on the Splendida. You are simply pampered from the moment you set foot on board. You're met by bellhops and butlers who ...

we decided to try msc (Splendida ),the ship is 4 years old but very spotless and fresh ,this year and were pleasantly surprised. The ship was a real treat with a very pleasant and friendly crew,we never use a formal dining option and again liked the choice and availability of food .All public areas had a pleasant aroma but be warned of the bars that allow smoking inside the ship in designated ...

Disappointing.......

I have read several reviews of the Splendida MSC and must say I am very surprised with most reviews being top stars. I can not concur with the same high rating. For a great majority of time spend on the boat I was absolutely terrorized by gangs of unsupervised and out of control kids ( thanks for port excursions!). It was impossible to enjoy cup of coffee, dinner or even alone time in your cabin ...

This was our 2nd cruise. Last year we were on the Norwegian Jade for the Madeira & Canary Islands cruise. Last year we cruised benauwd we got an amazing offer and this time it was because my husband ran the Barcelona Marathon and he wanted a rest afterwards. We embarked in Barcelona, because of warning we expected a long wait but we arrived at the terminal at 12.30 and were at 13.00 in our ...

We flew by EasyJet from Gatwick to Barcelona. We used Ziptransfers for a pre-booked taxi and the guy was there waiting. 78 Euros return trip for 3 of us and luggage. We went to an overnight hotel at Eurostars Grand Marina on the port and a five minute stroll to Las Ramblas. The hotel was fabulous. The room was massive and the bathroom was to die for. I would return to this hotel fro a weekend stay ...

Sailing out of Barcelona is a breeze, organized and efficient. Once you get checked in, you can buy souvenirs and alcohol on the way to the ship. We were supposed to get vouchers for bottled water and no one seemed to know where to pick up the vouchers, was sent to Reception, to Accounting, to cabin steward, back to Reception, back to Accounting, no big deal just a lot of walking and time. Ship is ...
