"Nickel and Dime" Experience

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on MSC Meraviglia

I've cruised with Crystal, Princess, Norwegian, and Holland America, and without a doubt, my experience with MSC is the worst. Although the fare was lower than expected, transatlantic from Barcelona to Barbados, the "nickel and dime" experience on board, coupled with frequent billing errors, poorly organized shore tours, and poorly managed buffet staff, made the experience unforgettably poor. I ...

Worst cruise ever!

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Meraviglia

This was my 6th cruise, very first with MSC. I have cruised with Carnival and Celebrity. This ship was so disorganized. Every person you asked had a different answer. The rooms were not cleaned well. The food was TERRIBLE. Not fresh. They sent up wrong breakfasts and one day, no breakfast at all. 3/4 of the staff were rude. The dining room was awful. The first night our table of 4, we ...

Poor food, sad unfriendly staff and no customer support

First , I tried to contact MSC customer support prior to the cruise. Two emails and two phone call back requests and NO response! Ship was beautiful but food was mediocre at best. Staff was sad looking, not friendly and not helpful. They just stood around looking like sad sacks. When I had an issue and went to the front desk I was met with:someone will respond. No one ever did. Funny, after I got ...

Disappointing, miserable cruise

We have cruised with MSC before and were really looking forward to repeating out previous and wonderful experience. Not to be. We travelled from Aust to Milan, bus to Genoa and were put in a grotty hotel - which was under renovation, sanding and painting going on and building surrounded by scaffolding. We met several other Aussie couples doing the same cruise. They had paid for interior rooms ...

This is our 26th cruise and it ranks as one of our worst.... Pros Thermal spa was great Honours other cruise line’s loyalty programs Ship was new and clean Cons Food too salty, and the pizza was limp and soggy. The restaurant’s menu was limited and the quality of the dishes was inadequate. It was always tough to find seats in the buffet as they always seem to close off sections ...

If you want an enjoyable time, avoid this farce! Quantity rather than Quality

As we have some cruise experience (Holland America, RC, Princess, Costa, Viking, Aida) and have travelled with MSC (Fantasia) before, we spontaneously decided to spend a week on MSC Meraviglia. Prices seemed more than reasonable and as we planned our trip for March we knew we were not coming back with a tan, so opted for an interior cabin without balcony. The weather wouldn't be permitting ...

We booked principaly to see the Cirque du soleil performance and have been on many MSC cruises before. This ship is ghastly in side and out. The décor in the balcony cabin was dark and depressing the view being partially obscured by a life boat which they failed to mention when booking. I think they got TK Max or the Range to do the furnishings. The ship was full of all nationalitys the result ...

Worst Cruise Ever

We have been cruising for over 35 years, and never have we had a bad cruise, till now. We have cruised with Costa before on many of their ships, so we were under no illusion it would be noisy, particularly as it was a large ship, however, it was only a 7 nighter and it was going were we wanted it to, so we thought we'd make the most of it. Our first impression of the ship was very ...

We booked this cruise last year because was very cheap. You only get what you pay for. Embarkation was smooth. Our ticket said 16.15 pm, we arrived at 10.30 am. Didn't matter were given a number slot in order of boarding. On board by13.00. Ship is very big you walk a long way for venues. We had a balcony cabin on deck 10. Smallest balcony room ever, not enough storage space for clothes. ...

We chose this cruise, despite all the bad reviews, because the price and the itinerary were good. We figured "how bad can it be". Well the reviews were right. The ship is beautiful. Everything else was not. I don't even know where to start. From the minute we set foot on the ship everything was about up selling you. Even at dinner in the main dining room the waiters were trying to sell you dining ...
