I have been on 18 cruises, but never longer than 7 days. This was my 1st longer cruise and my 1st transatlantic cruise.
EMBARKATION: I arrived at the port in Barcelona with a fellow passenger who spoke Spanish. Somewhow, that got us priority boarding. We walked right up to counter, got our cruise cards and walked right onto the ship. I think were were onboard within 10 ...
I chose this cruise because I did a similar "repositioning" cruise last year on the Preziosa and enjoyed it. This time we were going to New York, which I have never been to. Embarkation was not good this time - not enough people and information at the port in Lisbon which resulted in us carrying our suitcases to the cabin ourselves. I didn't think the food was as good on Divina as it was on ...
I read many of these reviews and can relate to the disappointment lots of travelers have had with MSC Cruises. We recently did a Mediterranean cruise with MSC out of Barcelona and found the ship was good but the staff were lacking in excellence. We have cruised before on Royal Caribbean and they were fantastic. Food was amazing, staff were all excellent, organisation was also excellent. MSC could ...
Just came back from our Meditarranean cruise on MSC and we have nothing but glowing reviews for the staff friendliness, multilingual, pleasant and helpfulness. The food was fabulous be it at the dining room or the buffet which had fresh pizza all day long and a good spread of fruits, and for those insisting on unhealthy food there was a full Americanized section with burgers, fries, hot dog, etc ...
We have sailed on the MSC Divina in the Caribbean and was very pleased - however, our cruise in the Mediterranean was VERY disappointing. The ship is beautiful and well maintained - however, the food was TERRIBLE - the menu completely changed since our last sailing - food preparation AWFUL - even the servers, while nice and polite, seemed to get everything wrong!! The shows, while in the ...
My wife and i travelled as part of a group of 27 travellers. We spent two nights in bacelona prior to joining the ship.
Check in at barcelona port was very efficient and well organised. Divina is a big ship with capacity of nearly 4,000 passengers and crew of circa. 1350.
Service from staff on board was excellent at all levels from reception, buffet, bars, waiter/waitress, restaurant, cabin ...
We are seasoned cruisers mainly CCL & RC and we decided to try an entirely different line to celebrate mom's birthday. MSC was offering a fly/cruise/hotel/ package that fit our budget; 7adults and 2 children. Ms Divina is certainly a DIVA ship, no way to find any fault with the ship. Let's start at the beginning.
Booking: we went through a travel agent and that helped a lot. Confusion came ...
Decor -
MSc Divina's decor attempts to be an elegant and sophisticated, however its over the top sparkly and glittery appearance resulted in it looking extremely tacky.
Service -
There is a 15% service charge on everything including a daily standard charge. Personally i prefer to tip staff for good service at my own discretion. The staff were blunt, unmotivated and moody - service was ...
Arrived In Barcelona Airport, MSC guys told us we weren't on there list so wouldn't take us to port. They were extremely rude. we had to pay for taxi to port even though we had it included in our package. MSC said they would put €25.00 on each cabin but only put it on 3 cabins. When i went to reception about it they advised they would send email but wasn't that interested. I went down again 2 days ...
First, the website is horrendous and customer service representatives are downright nasty. We booked the Divina for a Med cruise in 2014 for this year. We were all excited as we were a group of 11. Everyone got the Premium drink package so we didn't have to worry about anything, yes it was worth it.
Boarding in Barcelona went off fairly well as there were 800 persons boarding there. We ...
